Every year when Stephen Hill tweets who should get the lifetime achievement award he gets several tweets saying Janet jackson should, well last year it was out of Pattie, Janet and Aretha. Miss Franklin turned it down, Janet was on her Number Ones world tour 2011-2012 and had a show in paris the day of the awards, so it went to Patti. Stephen hill tweeted days b4 the BET awards last year how he tried everything in his power to get janet but she was on tour, and that he will tried again next year.

Jackson has every right to get this award this year she has changed the face of pop/ r&b music. She changed the face of MTV in the 1980's with ground breaking music videos and sold out world tours. I can not wait for her to get this award. The BET AWARDS knows how to put on a award show my favorite part of the entire show is when a legend gets this award.

I want all of you to tell me what artist should perform what janet songs. and what songs should janet perform when her tribute is done. Usually 4 to 6 perfomers perform, then the artist perform a 15 min set. Have fun with this you guys enjoy. #JanetJackson #BetAwards2012 :)

He's been trying for the past 2 years to get Janet I think, it would be great for them to honour Janet. But she said no to x factor because she said she'd continue touring, she may be unavailable again.

I'd love for something like:
R Kelly - Any Time Any Place (his remix of the song is great, love to hear him perform the song)
Ciara - If (probably the only female artist of today that could handle the choreography)
Chris Brown - Alright (Kinda' like how Usher did it at her MTV:Icon tribute)
Kelly Rowland - I Get Lonely (got an I Get Lonely vibe from her BET performance in 2011)
Marsh Ambrosius - Got 'Till Its Gone (her cover of the song with Jeff Bradshaw is pretty good)
Bruno Mars - That's The Way Love Goes (he covered a little of this in one of his concerts it sounded cool)

As for Janet I know she'd do great no matter what she did, would be nice to hear some new music from her though its been 4 years since her last album and she's been literally incognito for months now like she used to when she was recording an album, who knows.

Hope she makes time for this. As critical as I might be of Janet, Janet deserves this.
