Rumors that Janet Jackson is planning her wedding to Wissam Al Mana have been flying fast and furious for weeks now. There's only one problem: they're already married!

In their first joint statement as a couple, Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana confirm the news exclusively to ET, saying, "The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."

Janet Jackson has married her boyfriend Wissam Al Mana.
'Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony,' the couple told Entertainment Tonight in a surprise statement.
'Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children’s charities.

And the couple added that they did not have an' extravagant' wedding.
'The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true,' they wrote.
The news comes as the couple were spotted at the Giorgio Armani show on Monday during Milan Fashion Week.

Newlywed Janet, 46, could not have looked happier.
Flashing a grin, she and her billionaire businessman husband, 37, wrapped their hands around each others' waists as they posed for photographers.
She did not have a wedding ring on her finger, and shyly hid her hand in her pocket.

Wissam didn't reciprocate the smiling, but it was apparent their affection was mutual when he pulled his wife in his arms as she tried to walk away.
The two even coordinated their outfits, both dressed from head-to-toe in black.
But Janet wore an embellished peplum jacket to show some style in honor of the prestigious event.

The two have kept their relationship low key, and have previously ignored reports that they were set to wed.
'I'm fortunate enough to be dating my dream woman,' the managing director of Al Mana Retail, which represents A/X Armani Exchange, told Harper's Bazaar Arabie in November 2010.
'I'm getting older and I feel more settled,' the sister of Michael Jackson added. 'We have a deep bond, a deep connection.'
The 'I Get So Lonely' singer was previously married to song artist James DeBarge and director Rene Elizonda Jr.
She also dated music producer Jermaine Dupri for seven years, but hopefully she has finally found her perfect mate.

I suspect Janet will produce some kind of way a "miracle baby"
to gaurantee 18 years of child support, just in case the marriage does not work out.

Sure, sure, and Michael was accused of marriages of conveniences. But MJ fans do forget awfully fast.

On behalf of most parents I'd like to turn the opportunity to be offended for every parent out there who has children because money is really all there is why we had children. And btw, 18 years is not the magical number. Never thought I'd have to defend anyone potentially having kids.

Some fans will never seem to grasp the fact that Janet is one of the wealthiest women in the music industry, and that whatever she does for the rest of her life she'll never be broke, so she would never need to have a baby to ensure she gets child support, some will take any opportunity to bash, very sad.

Good for her. How about the articles that said she was going to have this lavish wedding in the spring, and the family were being chartered to the Middle East for the wedding. How do these journalists get away with all these lies!! I am sure Janet was laughing all the time at their nonsense.
