Pop star Janet Jackson swept into London last night - and headed straight for royal haunt Mahiki in Mayfair.

The singer is in town to support her older sister La Toya, who's in the Celebrity Big Brother house, and she is also expected at the premiere of Thriller Live - the new West End musical based on the music of her brother Michael.

But, in keeping with the slightly odd nature of the family, Janet, 42, sat in the club until 2am without touching a drop of alcohol.


The usually glamorous star, dressed casually in jeans and PVC quilted jacket, even wore her glasses to the nightclub and was unsurprisingly reluctant to be photographed.

This is idiotic brit reporting...there isn't anything odd about not consuming alcohol in a club or to not have alcohol to enjoy your time in a club.

An onlooker said: 'Janet was in really high spirits. She was sitting on a table downstairs in the VIP area of the club with Prince Azim and a number of his friends.'

I love it how they involve Thriller live. Whether she visits the musical or not. That's the right way to make promotion.

.....I have seen this musical back in Yorkshire when it opened 1.5years ago..and Janet is going to see it..
she will love it, it is amazing!

It's kinda odd how Janet came to London just before LaToya got eviced from the BB house....maybe the housemates are informed beforehand about who has to go?

Janet last night dined at famed Mayfair restaurant Cipriani’s alongside Prince Azem of Brunei, Jerry Hall and model Caprice.
Following dinner, she visited Mahiki for the second night in a row to celebrate President Obama’s inauguration at a party she hosted. Several celebrities were in attendance, including those above

well, not really cause either way everybody is out of the house by today, cause I think the final show is tonight and the winner is announced. So either way she came around the time that Latoya wouldn't be in the house anymore no matter what :yes:
 
I dont see what is odd bout not drinking alchol at nightclubs!!!
I go to nighclubs sometimes and i dont drinka alchol either....so that must mean im odd than does it?

Looks like Janet's put the weight back on again, but it's nice that she went out there to support Latoya. I'm mad Latoya was voted off though :-(, I was rooting for her.

I don't think La Toya minded getting "evicted". She was the only one of the housemates being real, being herself, and if it were me I couldn't wait to get out LOL. She just seemed to have some fun on the show. xx
 
I think she looks fine and I hope she had a good time in London whatever the reason was she was there...She dosn´t have to be super thin.
