Bad timing.

I know this isn't the case, but critics will accuse her of cashing in on her brothers passing.

How you figure that? Life goes on. Janet will continue to release music, just as she has been doing all her life. If anything she will sell a whole lot more, since she has a bunch of "new fans"
 
Hmm....I think it's bad timing too. I love Janet but yeah..
Unless it was planned before.
 
I don't think it's bad timing at all. People can say what they want! Music is and always has been an outlet for Janet. A HITS album is WELL overdue! She hasn't had a GH compilation since 1995 - that's 14 years! This will be a 2-disc with 30 singles on it.

A new album (which has been planned since the end of last year)will be out the first half of 2010. :)
 
Why is it bad timing? :huh:

She performed to 27+ million viewers last Sunday night! This is perfect timing if you ask me! and she's not cashing in on Mike! She's just doing her job.
 
She already has a greatest hits album that has been out for years. This is capitalizing at it's best. Janet's not even with A&M/Interscope anymore. This product will just be something repackaged.
 
Janet or her family can't stop living because Michael passed away. Everyone complained that the Jacksons performing now even though they always have been a musical family. Ugh. Janet and the others are artist in their own right, and they deserve to try and make a living too!
 
Janet hasn't had hits package in 14 years! She was due to release one at the end of the virgin era anyway. "make me" is listed under a&m/interscope so I think she is back with them.

Janet isn't Jermaine, La Toilet or Joe. She has never used Michael during his life and won't in his death.

:yes: I aggree. Music and entertainment is the way the Jacksons make a living. How long do you expect them not to work? No one has the right to judge how someone else should mourn the death of a loved one. Some ppl find it helps them by going back to work and getting on with normal life. In fact Janet when straight back to the film set the night after the public memorial. And i say good for her, if it helps her cope with the loss of Michael then whats wrong with that?

Alot of the Jacksons had projects coming out before Michael passed (including Janet, Jermaine and La Toya)...but because ppl didn't know about it, all they see is that the Jacksons have suddenly invented projects to capitalise off Michaels death :smilerolleyes:

As for this #1's Albums for Janet, i think its about time! And I for one am looking forward to it:dancin:
 
In 2006, I believe Janet's net worth was 350 million. She hardly needs to "cash in". This is her occupation so I doubt anyone expects her to stop earning a living.
 
Umm Janet has to go on living and doing what she was doing before June 25th. The saddest thing to do is to stop living your life because someone you love has passed. You never know when you'll be called home so live while your here.

Last year her record company IDJ, dropped her. Janet's career hasn't been going too well since All for you.
Do we know if she has a new record deal?

Don't know how well that new compilation will do, but now is the time to get back in the game in a big way. Hopefully, she will be able to recapture some of her fanbase.
