I love her. I love the time period, I would love to have lived in that time. So come on out of the closet Jane Austin fans. Come lets talk.
Who is Lady Susan?^_^I am actually reading Pride and prejudice again right now! I have also read Sense and Sensibility, Persuation, Emma and Lady Susan, but that was a long time ago. Nowadays I am more of a Charlotte Brontë fan but I still like Jane Austen as well. Don´t think I would have like to live in that time though...
OK, so it is part of the letters that JA wrote them. I haven't read the letters, but perhaps I should. Thanks. It is a long time since I read it. What I remember is that the whole book was consisting of an exchange of letters and Lady Susan who was a widow wanted to find a rich man, but she was always lying in order to find one. That is about all I remember. But it was quite funny.
That is very interesting. I should like to visit too. Have you seen the movie, Becoming Jane'? If you have, is it really true to her life, or is it mainly fiction?^_^I also love Jane Austen. I have read about six of her novels, and have had the privilege of visiting her last home in Chawton. It was fun to see her small writing desk, on the second floor, set up by a window so she could look outside while she wrote. She had four of her novels published while living there.
I also visited where she was buried in Winchester Cathedral. I was attending summer school in Bath, England, at the time, and as side trips we visited several different places connected with literature from around Ms. Austen's time period, in the surrounding areas of Bath. Of course, she included many references to Bath in her novels, and she also lived there for a time, but did not personally love living there. It did provide her excellent study of social behavior, though. Ha.
I am from the US, and it was a special memory for me to get to visit some of England in this way.
