"I can't sleep".

Michael couldn't sleep either. Michael got his Peter Pan theme for Neverland from the author, James M. Barrie who created Peter Pan. James M. Barrie died on June 19, 1937, same month as Michael.

Aww. Last year I visited J M Barries grave as its about 2 hours drive from me.I thought about Michael while I was there and how I bet he would love to visit the grave himself.
I wonder if he has met up with Mr Barrie yet? :)

There are too many coincidences like that in Michael's life... It's strange.

Where is Barrie's grave?

Sadly James had to deal with rubbish like Michael had to deal with too :(

Barrie also had friendships with other children, both before he met the Davies boys and after they had grown up, and there has since been speculation that Barrie was a paedophile or that he engaged in child sexual abuse.[14][15] However, there is no direct evidence of any such conduct, nor that he was suspected of it at the time. Nico, the youngest of the brothers, flatly denied that Barrie ever behaved inappropriately.[2] 'I don't believe that Uncle Jim ever experienced what one might call "a stirring in the undergrowth" for anyone — man, woman, or child,' he stated. 'He was an innocent — which is why he could write Peter Pan.' [16] His relationships with the surviving Davies boys continued well beyond their childhood and adolescence.

He too loved children.

Thankd for the link *find a grave*

Look what's written in the text... Just makes me think of Michael.

''Playwright. Born in the small weaving town of Kirriemuir, Scotland in 1860, he is most remembered for the creation of "Peter Pan" and the world of “Never Land.” The story of “Peter Pan” began with a book called "The Little White Bird," published in 1902. The character, Peter, was introduced as a baby, and he was later developed into the play "Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up." The play premiered in 1904, and productions and adaptations of Peter Pan are still common, including Steven Spielberg's movie, "Hook" (1991). He became a baron in 1913 and received the British Order of Merit in 1922. He was extremely concerned about his small stature (5 feet) and always seemed more comfortable in the company of children, which inspired his writing. He married actress Mary Ansell in 1894 but they divorced in 1910 with no children. Later, Barrie adopted the five orphaned sons of neighbors in Kensington London. He claimed that the character of “Peter Pan” was based on a composite picture of these five boys. One of the boys was killed in WW1 and another drowned in 1921, a tragedy from which he never fully recovered. In 1929, he gave the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London all the rights and royalties to “Peter Pan” in both the play and his books. That hospital still benefits from this endowment. At the time of his death in 1937 he was Chancellor of Edinburgh University.''

Me too! I actually watched it during the 25th June, and while I did so Michael left this world. :( Such a "bitter-sweet" coincidence.

Wow, the parallels btw Michael and John Barrie are amazing. Thanks for posting!

I love that movie 'Finding Neverland', also. Now that is what I would call a GREAT movie and what I would pay $10 for to go to in the cinema!

"To die will be an awfully big adventure."

i love that line. the peter pan movie is one of my fav films of all time and i can truthfullly say it has nothing to do with michael. its an AMAZING movie and peter is so michievious! it comes on often here in england on t.v and i watch it all the time. last time it was on was pretty recently actually!

:( "I'm peter pan in my heart"

Yes Michael. You were

thats just set me off

I must find out more about Barrie.. seen as MJ admired him so much.. i want to watch the film now too.. everyone connected to MJ now fascinates me

Barries relationship with children is so similar to MJ.. thanks for highlighting this

did mike ever meet walt disney? or was he too young

Michael was too young! Walt Disney died in 66. Michael wasn't even famous yet let alone respected enough to meet Walt Disney!!!! i love michael to death obviously, but Walt Disney was my hero first and you have to highly respected for Walt Disney to come lookin for ya! ..though i'm sure michael would have met him if Mr. Disney were still alive :(

Also, if you ever watch Finding Neverland, the story of J. M. Berrie's life, they were both looked at the same at one point. and my favorite line in the movie is where Depp's character (Barrie) is talking with his good friend. the friend lets him know that the town doesn't like te way Barrie is spending so much time with the widow's boys...they accuse him of molesting the boys basically...and J. M. Barrie replied "you find a glimmer of happiness in this world and there's always someone who wants to destroy it"...and that is so michael's life!!!
