Pap Rear-Ends Car Carrying the Jackson Kids

TMZ has learned Michael Jackson's kids were involved in a car accident moments ago in Los Angeles.

We're told a paparazzo -- not ours -- was following them when he suddenly rear-ended their car. Our sources say the accident wasn't severe and the kids are okay.

UPDATE: Joe Jackson tells us he spoke with Katherine and the kids are fine.

UPDATE 6:00 PM PT: Sources close to the Jackson family tell us Grace Rwaramba -- the kids' nanny --was driving the car with the kids inside. We're told the Jackson caravan was on the way to karate class, but the paparazzi gave chase ... and that's when one papper allegedly smashed into the back of the Jackson Escalade that wasn't carrying the kids.

UPDATE 5:45 PM PT: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the car that was hit was a Jackson security car, which was following the car carrying the Jackson kids. The kids were NOT in the car that was struck by the paparazzo. Cops also tell us a hit-and-run report was taken on the scene around 2:20 PM near the crash site in Sherman Oaks -- just a few miles from the Jackson home in Encino.

UPDATE 5:30 PM PT: Witnesses tell TMZ the driver who struck the Jackson car fled the scene after impact. In California, leaving the scene of an accident without exchanging information is a crime. The D.A. could file a felony hit-and-run charge if the evidence is there.

Something needs to be done about this! The kids can not be harrased by paps, they're just kids, no need to deal with all this ish.

I hope they're doing fine.

It's so tasteless, careless, and stupid what they do.
Putting those kids in potential danger like that.
I'm just glad that no one was hurt.

OH MY GOD. This is what I meant in the Liz thread! Why do they need to follow them?! They are young children, not celebrities just because MJ is no longer here. Wonder how much money the paps are getting for a photo?! If its a lot things could get dangerous. There should be a law against this..it wasn't their choice to be in the limelight, they shouldn't have to deal with consequences.

I think it would be a good idea if Michael Jackson's children moved
away from Los Angeles for a little while. :better:

somebody needs to protect these children...they should not be out in a position were the papps can even get near them...they are minors......Michael would never let this happen...:cry:

But this needs to be said by me.

THIS is why Debbie Rowe asked MJ to mask their faces, which he did. Now the entire world knows what they look like.

The MJ3 need massive Secret Service-like protection.

From some members of their own father's family, to paparazzi, they are in danger.

Katherine and the executors need to protect the MJ3 with all the security money can buy.

Sure, they want a regular life, but this is getting dangerous.

God, please send MJ and his team of angels to protect the MJ3,

Ugh! Disgusting. Truly sad. Leave those poor kids alone, they've been through enough without the paparazzi's help.

Those people are hounds.
Michael would be furious.

If there is SUCH demand for photographs of the children then they need to get serious with security. One car travelling in front of their car, one car travelling behind. Might sound extreme but if they are so in demand, to prevent danger certain measures like this should be taken.

IMO this is the issue with the jacksons. Proper security is just seen as money they can't spend so they think the family can handle it. No. And this is the problem they don't understand what MJ went through fully. I agree those kids should have the best money can buy and they can afford it.

Someone posted these two items on tmz.com...and it makes me wonder. What if someone in the family is tipping the paparazzi when the kids head out of the compound? That makes sense, because the Jacksons are all money-hungry.

But would they willingly put the kids' safety in jeopardy for money?

I worry about the Paps and I worry about these children being in the care of the Jacksons who are BROKE and will sell them out for a few dollars. They KNOW that their money train is almost over - as soon as old Katherine crosses over and they will do ANYTHING to get their hands on a few dollars. There has got to be someone more responsible for these children to be with then the Jacksons who only see them as dollar signs - the Paps know where they are because they are being told - Randy - Jermaine - LaToya?

I wonder why this kind of situation never happened when they were in the care of their Daddy. NEVER was there an incident of security regarding his children because he made sure not to stick them out in front of the media repeatedly for publicity purposes.

If Katherine can't do a better job than this.....well maybe it's time to look elsewhere.

Second. . . this is OUTRAGEOUS! It should be against the law for the paparazzi to follow the children of celebrities.

Third. . . I'm sorry, but I don't think the children should live in the LA area. Too much paparazzi around.

Fourth. . . The Jackson family should issue a strong statement to leave the children alone.

The children & Katherine are getting 86,000 a month - surely security can be secured for these babies. My God....

I agree a statement from the family is definitely in order here...even if they hold a brief news conference...this would of never happened if Michael was here...this is why he protected them like he did.
