i think this soul-funk masterpiece deserves a thread of its own.

This is one of my favourites. I do understand why it isn't well known though. It wouldn't fit radio play.

Yeah I'm pretty much obsessed with this song lol. Definitely one of my faves by the J5 . I think It was a very mature sound for them and is just a beautiful song. I really like how it starts out as a ballad with Jermaine's soulful singing (he did great job on this track) and then it keeps building up and towards the end it ends up being this funky, uptempo track. I just adore this song. To me, "I Am Love" is easily one of their best songs ever.Too bad it's so underrated.

I really like that performance of IAL with that Arxter posted btw, you can't beat the original with Jermaine, but Marlon did a great job singing lead. I was actually suprised at how well he did the first time I saw that clip.

I always thought this was one of the best J5 songs of all time!

I agree. LOVE this song. Really shows off the instrumental BAND QUALITY of the J-5.

"come back love, come back. This is where you belooooooong"

Thank God, I was really beginning to believe that the early years of MJ and the J5 were lost forever and here we have this, Arxter I cannot thank you enough....Do you happen to have maybe..Hum Along & Dance, Got A Brand NewThing or The Life of The Party or Get it Together, Body Language or Heartbreak Hotel or Find Me A Girl, Show You The Way to Go, Wanna Be Where You Are and the J5 list goes on and on? Thank you again...We the fans have really forgotten that all the members of the J5 have talent...That is why we need to push for the reunion tour, real soon. They are not getting any younger, ya know. Thanks again it is great to be really entertained like that. Vote for the J5 reunion tour , you certainly have my vote.

haha, right on mate. and great break-down, Cinn.

the track has such a unique combination of sensuality/spirituality, and the Rhodes keys just kill it for me.

i would also like to think that the bass here influenced D'Angelo's Brown Sugar, but probably not. still, genius stuff all 'round.

I'm pretty sure that almost all of us have all of these!!!! :punk:
The j5/jacksons are SOOOOOOO underrated, and they made such real music and i'm in love with all of it! lol
I can't even describe how I feel about all those jackson bros!! lol

OMG II feel the same way too. I'm all about the J5,the Jacksons, and the Off The Wall Eras. There were truely some great jams from the Dancing Machine LP. IMO, this was one of the best.

Definitely my favorite non-hit of the J5.

I don't care too much for the second part, but the first part is class.
