During one of the concerts in Mexico The jackson 5 performed the song "Papa was a rolling stone" by the Temptations. They did an excellent performance, and their choreography was incredible! But the irony lies within the song. The first line of the song says "it was the 3rd of september, that day i'll always remember, because that was the day my daddy died". Michael Jackson, although he didn't die on the 3rd of september, he is going to be buried on the 3rd of september. and THAT is extremely ironic. Considering the fact that originally, the actual date "3rd of september" was not even suppose to be in the song. The temptations wanted to change it because one of the members (i forgot which one), his dad HAD died on the 3rd of september. But their music writer MADE them put that in there against their wishes.

*Just wanted to share that interesting fact

oh and here is the video of their performance =D

I checked wiki (not reliable, I know at times) the member with the dead father was Dennis Edwards.

And that Is kinda Ironic.

Strangely enough, I was just listening to that song on the MJ radio station when I read this thread. There is some significance in that date, I think (apart from being the date Britain declared war on Germany in 39) I'm trying to remember what it is!

Great video - look at MJ taking off by himself during the intro - class.

A lot of things can be coincidence. I turned 25 on Michael's memorial (July 7th) and Michael died on the 25th. Now, he will be buried on the 3rd of September and that's my brother's birthday.

That's true. Dennis didn't want to sing that line and asked Norman Whitfield the producer) if the line could be changed to another date. But Norman refused.
