I wanted to start a discussion for indie artists that we may be in to.

I'll go first:

Samantha Newark's new album, "Somethin' Good" is coming out on October 21st. Samantha got her start as the voice of Jem, of Jem and The Holograms and continued with voice acting, background singing (Leonard Cohen) and then eventually on to recording her own music. She's written all of the songs for her new album and it sounds very promising.

Wow, her voice is the same
I used to love Jem.

But I want to know what is Indie to people.
Because until this day, I saw discussions about it and there's no agreement.
Some say Indie is a music genre, others say it depends on the record label.

And, ok, I have two obsessions in music: Michael Jackson and Radiohead.
Some Radiohead fans say they're not only "indie" when talking about music genre but they're in an independent record label now.
So, it's hard for me to say.

Interesting discussion. I never really thought about it. I guess I always considered an indie artist as someone who is out there hustling on their own or on a small label. And you're right, Sam's voice hasn't changed a bit.
