There was a quote that Michael made sometime back..."don't judge a person until you've walked two moons in their moccasins" or something to that effect. Well very shortly before I discovered this quote, I wrote a song/poem with Michael in mind, but which would also apply to myself and ANYONE who is misunderstood. And then when I found that quote I knew I was right on the ticket. Tell me what you think!

In My Shoes

In my shoes
In my life
Through my joys
Through my pain
Put on my many
Pairs of shoes

Cry out loud
Shout with joy
Walk right through
Experience me

In my poverty
In my fortune
In my obscurity
In my fame
In my hopelessness
In my faith

I know I’m not alone
The sandals of God
Are walking beside me
Lifting me up when I fall
Giving me water when I’m thirsty
Laughing with me when I’m happy
Saying, “don’t worry, I Am here”

Be me
Through my joys and elations
Be me
Through my trials and temptations
Then you’ll understand
Why I am the way I am

Put on my shoes
Walk the miles
Through my valleys of trials
Upon my hilltops of happiness
And you’ll see
The real me.

that was beautiful....I really loved it:wub: I'm not a big fan of poetry and I never read it....but that poem really moved me:closedeyes:....thank you for sharing it with us:yes:

I love poems and I often wite down my feelings but I am too shy to share it with other people...

Yeah, me too, normally. To be honest some of the poems and songs I have written this year are re-visitations and modifications of the hundreds of things I wrote way back in high school in the mid-90's. I am slowly becoming a little more sharing with my stuff - whether that's poems, or stories, or songs. That's how shy I am. 5 years ago I wouldn't have dared showing this stuff to you all, not even my husband. I am taking a risk and opening up myself and sharing who I am. It's hard, but I know I have to do it some if I am going to go public with my music.

And if Michael ever does respond to me to what I sent to him, and if it is alright with him that I share what he tells me, then I will. :) I would never want to betray his trust and his privacy. That is an extremely important thing to me.

Who know's maybe one day I will decide to share something too. To me you are really good so anytime you feel the desire of sharing what you have written please do it. You are right, we, as his loyal fans, must respect his privacy. I have done the same when the situation needed so I understand you.
 
Thank you so much for your encouragement. It makes me happy that people like my material. I've got more...and as time goes on I will post them in my thread that's called, "Some of my songs..." that's located here in the Fan Zone. :)

Last night at church I was speaking with a friend of mine, whom I have not talked to in a long time and mentioned to her that I am writing and recording my own stuff now, and she told me that she was so glad to hear that, and said I look so happy now. I told her that for a long time earlier this year I wouldn't even sing anything, even at home, which is a huge thing, and she said she noticed my sadness. I am finally getting some closure to what happened to me and moving on to bigger and better things. And to be honest, this song I have posted in this thread is one of my favorites. :)

Your poem/song is very touching and beautifully written. I truly believe that God uses all of us as messengers which allows us to reveal feelings embedded deep in our hearts and souls which are helpful in our lives as well as others. I too use to write down thoughts and feelings, but for some reason or another I stopped putting them on paper many years ago. Your poem reminds me of a poem I wrote called "It Happened To Me" that I'd like to share with you. Every few years, whenever I'm feeling a bit hopeless, I think of the words to that poem and it kind of relieves my mind of whatever hurt or sorrow that I'm feeling at the moment.

Keep up the good work! I hope all your dreams and realities come true in what you aspire to do or be. When I get the chance, if you don't mind, I'm gonna check out your thread "Some of my songs..." in the Fan Zone.

Also, you should make sure you copyright all of your work so no unscrupulous person steals your writings, I know they are very valuable to you. I truly hope MJ is actually receiving what your sending, I'm sure your words are precious to him.
