If Janet Did a Cover of a Michael Hit Would It be as Good????

I only ask because I love Man in the Mirror - one of many thats my all time favorite - and was wondering, if Janet "redid" / did a cover of it or any of Michael's hits, would it be good & or would you want to hear it anyway?

I kind of want to hear a rendition of Man in Mirror and afew other songs, maybe even Dirty Diana but just to hear what it would sound like. Thats all.

Some songs I maybe want to hear a cover of: Dirty Diana
Bad I think Janet would be awesome doing this ; maybe adding afew new 'techno' or new sounds to it.

i concur. i mean, everybody is into doing remakes, in movies, in songs..but even if that weren't the case...lol...no remaking MJ. toooo classic. it's like saying 'hey..i wanna improve on perfection.' how does somebody do that? yeah i know somebody will come and say it's a tribute, and with love from sister. baloney. that has nothing to do with where i am coming from on this.

lol...it'd be nice if Janet would say, 'i'm leavin the songs alone, as a tribute, with love, from sister.' lol.

I don't care WHO covers Michael's songs, they will never be as good or better than his. His songs should just be left alone, but that's my opinion.

But IF Janet were to do a cover of one of Michael's songs I could see her doing The Way You Make Me Feel.

yea I see everyones point. I doubt that anyone besides of course maybe jermaine, doing any of michaels songs- I just wanted to see what it would sound like thats all.
 
Janet has said that she is open to doing a MJ track. Whether it happens or not is another story.
 
Yeah, it's a cool thought, but NO ONE can cover Michael's music...it just doesn't work....

No, not even close. Alicia Keys sang Human Nature, and I couldn't watch it. Now, Alicia Keys can belt out some tunes, she can really sing but doing MJ songs are just too hard to do. Can nobody come close.
 
well i think the person.. i forgot her name that wrote man in the mirror sings that song better it had a soul feeling about it.. i like it better..but thats just me ..i also love fall out boys version of beat it ..dnt think its better but love it

I wouldn't mind Janet doing a remake, no it wouldn't be as good as MJ's, but it won't be terrible... I said it before in another thread, if she were to do one, I think it should be a soft song, that will suit her voice.
Anyway to be honest, Janet is a great writer and I would like to hear more of her own songs :flowers:
 
I think she'd do fabulously with an "anthem" song like Will You Be There. I could see her doing that song really really well, on par with MJ.
 
God no. I hate MJ covers, they always sound so wrong. Stevie Wonder's covers are great and all but Michael's songs are so perfect no one can do them justice.

of course not. no one can do a cover of a mj song as good as the original. heck most covers of any songs by any other artists are never as good. (a few exceptions like harvest for the world by the christians sticks out to me).but other than that they cant compete with the original let alone an MJ original

never knew her name in the first place ..soo how can i remember ..i just remember her being all over tv when he passed... nd i liked her version better =/
 
No it wouldn't be as good in my opinion, but I would be interested to hear it.
 
No, please. I love Janet and I have nothing against her but I don't like the idea of anyone re-recording any of Michael's songs.

But if she did it I'd like to hear it anyway :p
 
i can see Ms. Nasty doing Dirty Diana...it can be Dirty Darran.


but there are good covers of other artists songs out there...i personally have liked some covers over originals..when its about michael...i haven't liked anything yet..but the remakes dont have to be billie jean or thriller...it can be another song he did.
 
I don't think it would ever be as good as the original, MJ is just too hard of an act to follow. But I would love to hear Janet do a cover of his work.
 
The only song i will feel she should make over is "someone put your handout" because she can really flow smoothly on this track other than that i rather his music live on through him. I remeber when Neyo sang lady of my life at the BET awards in 09 people reactions wasn't good many were heated even thro i felt he did a nice Job. AL B sure remade Lady of my life and killed it. Its hard to re-make a MJ song because his voice alone is so unique of the the greatest
 
This should'nt even be a question......

When Michael sang a song, he did'nt just sing it......you heard vocals to die for, emotions and inflections that gave you goosebumps!

Somethings should be untouchable and Michael Jackson's songs are among those things.
