I just got so pissed off at this lady I talked to on MSN. I know that not everyone likes MJ`s music and what not. He is this and that, whatever.

But she claimed that his live concerts are horrible. Like he can`t create a good concert, ever?

I know for a fact, and this is not the main argument why his live shows are good, but lots of people who don`t really care for MJ have seen his shows, or simply admit that he is a good live artist. It is what he is known for. It is what made him the biggest in history.

Call him any bad thing you want, but don`t come on my MSN and claim he is a terrible live artist.

Man that pissed me off.

It is like saying taking an exercise is bad for your body, or that healthy food will give you a heart attack.

I saw History tour in 1997. 35000 attended the concert. Of those 35000, maybe 1000 were fans. MJ is not that popular in Norway. But for the life of me, people are not that dumb to say his shows suck. You really gotta be a hater to make such a claim. Or just to far out.

Am I right here, or just to much of a fan?

Well I'll say it this way...
If she doesn't like Michaels live concerts, she doesn't like them. I hope she's happy aside from it!
Ppl are entitled to their likes and dislikes.
I'm wondering if she knows what she's talking about, did she attend a show of him?
Then again I'm not even really interested in her reasons because it doesn't matter as those obviously do not appeal to me.

Ppl jump to their judgements... honestly I personally let them.

Sometimes I happen to like something and also dislike other things without that I really have reasons or can name them or even want to name them also. It's at times just a feeling inside either I don't really need or a feeling I want to enjoy.
To me it's not really important if someone likes what I like. It's important that they do let me like what I like lol.
So if she thinks Michaels shows suck... I'd let her think that, I mean to me that's certainly her loss.
BUT if she wants to convince me or anyone else of her opinion and can't stop... then she has a problem... saying the problem is more herself and not so much Michaels shows... if you know what I mean.

Then again it's us chosing with whom we do spend time even if only on msn?!

It kinda depends on why she doesn't like the shows very much.

Some people have a good point when they comment on the fact that Michael didn't sing live during the HIStory tour (apart from the 2 or 3 songs he did sing live). I can't really argue with that. Yes, we can come up with excuses saying it was sony's fault because they wouldn't allow him to sing live, or we could say 'but look at his dancing, how can he sing live when he has to dance?!'....but in the end, the public doesn't care. They come to a concert to see someone live, not hear the album tracks.

I wonder if the lady has been to one of Michael's concerts. Because for many people, just seeing Michael in onstage is enough to make the experience mind-blowing. If she hasn't been there, she doesn't know what she's talking about.

And if she was there, I wonder if she had her eyes open during the concert ;)

PS: you can never be too much of a fan!!!!

Well, newspapers are a good example in this. They judge concerts based on an entire package. And if I remember correctly, none of them ever mentioned if MJ sang live or not, or if his music was good or not. They basically judged his concerts based on the totality of the show. And Michael gives a wide range of things to experience in his concerts.

I have to admit that when I attended the History Tour concert, I did not think about if he sang live or not. But then again I am a fan. I cared about the show, dancing, sound and light. I don`t think she has seen any of his concerts, but she said she didn`t like the music. And that I think was a strange argument to use. I know plenty of people who wouldn`t buy a CD of Michael if they`re life depended on it, but still they would see one of his concerts. Like I said, MJ`s concerts is more then just the music, the dance, live or not live vocals. It is a totality, a package if you will. Something for everyone.

He likes to call it magic. And I felt I understood then what Michael talks about when he says his shows are about being swept away in the moment. You forget yourself. I certainly did :)

I have attended heavy metal concerts also, and there it is simply about getting drunk and banging your head to the music. Such concerts you would have to be somewhat a fan of that genre. But with Michaels concerts you can enjoy it and not be a fan of his music.

We can't please everyone all the time. Statistically, Mr.Jackson out ranks um all...Try not to sweat the small stuff...

:angel:In the end, the TRUTH always sets us free~~~:punk:

I maybe new but i can tell you why she doesnt like his live concerts.
She hasnt seen him live. Or She goes by what the tabloids say about Michael.
The past his reaking Havic on his future as an artist. The people simply dont like him because they want to believe he did what he was accused of even when he was proven innocent. They want that to be true to break him... But if you listen to Unbreakable... You know that didnt happen.

People who say these things about michael simply want to get your dander up. If you talk to me on msn about Michael... That would be the last thing we talk about. ;)

my thoughts too you are very right

Many people like Michael but they dont want to acknowledge just because the media write bad artlicles about Michael and they think its true.
Other pple insult him coz they want the fans to get angry
Thats my opinion :)

you said it all, when you said that out of thirty five thousand attendees to that concert, only one thousand were fans...nuff said.

it doesnt matter what people say, after the fact...nobody puts a gun to anyone's head and tells them to attend an MJ concert. you're not too much of a fan. MJ is in a win win situation.

you summed it up even better in this post. and, of all people..the media gets it right, here. that says it all.

all MJ haters are Ignoramuses and just talking out of their asses like they really know him
but guess what they really don't know him like his fans do so don't worry about that lady
So if I where u if that lady comes on again don't even talk to her just get off of your computer.

Ask her why she thinks that. If she says something like "they just are", she obviously hasn't thought about it and/or paid much attention. In that case, ask her to analyse them and then explain to you why she dislikes them, if you want to 'enlighten' her.
If you don't really care, just let her be and let her have that opinion if it makes her happy.

when was the last time anyone here hated an artist's music, and therefore, decided to attend that artist's concert?
