What I mean by that, is how would you all feel about Michael writing and producing an entire album by himself without producers or anyone else to help? Do you think he could do it? I personally believe he could. He's already shown in the past that he can write and produce songs by himself and do a damn good job too. So, would you all welcome an album where Michael writes and produces the whole thing and doesn't feature any guest stars or other artists and is just ALL 100% Mike?

Discuss.

That would be a dream come true for me, don't matter if it takes 10 years in the making.

I would be beyond ecstatic if he would do that. I KNOW he can do it. But like with all of his talents, he doesn't show off. I think he's musically the greatest songwriter around and I would kill for him to have an album where no one else messed with his work except himself.

I'd be so damn happy. I'm thinking of the album title right now: Michael Joseph Jackson. A personal, reflective album, if the title would show a glimpse of what's actually inside before listening.

I was listening to Stevie Wonder's Music of My Mind album last night. The booklet says things like, except for guitar and stuff, it's all about Stevie. I would love to see that in any of Michael's future albums.

I'd love it if Michael did write and compose every single song for an album. He probably never will though cause he likes to stay varied and he's just to damn humble for his own good lol. Bad will probably be the closests thing were gonna get to having a full album wriiten and composed by MJ

I would rather have that than all these collaborations and duets, as seen in the Thriller 25 bonus tracks. I just want Michael!

How do I feel about that?

I feel like that would take another five years.

Let Mike do what he has to do and work with who he has to work with to make a new album before we all take our last breath, OK?

LOL seriously, you have to be realistic here. I can't actually think of an album in the history of man where every single song was written, composed, engineered, produced, and even recorded by the artist alone (hell, even all of the instruments played by the artist PLUS the other things I mentioned...ALONE). I can't name one. Maybe someone else can, but this is unheard of. Maybe Michael would set a new trend, I dunno....

And to wannabestartinsomethin21 who says Michael doesn't show off...WHA?!!! He's the biggest show-off I've ever seen in my life!

Mr.Jackson is very capable...

Smiles~~~

Heal The World~~~"Education Is The Key"

Noooo he needs akon, kanye west, will.i.am as well as any other hip "pop" producer to help him!!!!!!!

I like having him working with someone, like Quincy or Teddy.

It would be the best album of all of the times. Am not I despising the marvel that the album Thriller was but if Michael gets to pass such emotion and quality with the one what did he already do until today, does it imagine in an album in what he could introduce Michael Jackson for Michael Jackson????????

:)

Ever heard of a guy named Prince? Yeah, so it can be done. I'm not even talking about Michael playing instruments and engineering though, but I do think he can write and produce a whole album by himself. I mean Michael did afterall write 9 out of the 11 songs on "Bad" entirely by himself and of course Quincy produced it, but with that album Michael showed that he is more than capable of going at it alone. Lets not forget the "History" album also where Michael wrote and produced "Stranger In Moscow" (which I consider to be an absolute masterpiece) and "They Don't Care About Us", which are two of his best songs ever lyrically and otherwise. When Michael gets it right, he gets it right. On all of Michael's albums except for "Invincible", the best and most popular songs have been written by Michael himself (Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough, Billie Jean, Bad, Stranger In Moscow, Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, etc.). He is more than capable of doing it by himself.

I used to be against the idea of Michael writing and producing an entire album by himself because I was worried that it would be filled with mostly media bashing songs like "Privacy" and overly sappy songs like "Heal The World" and "Speechless", but i've changed my mind now. I think Michael knows that most people don't want to hear an entire album full of that. I would really be estatic Michael took a chance and actually believed in his capabilities because that's what it seems is going on here to me. Michael is working with all these "hot, young" producers because he doesn't feel he can do it by himself. Now, of course it's always good to have other people's imput, but Michael doing an entire album by himself would be so cool to me. I think it would be a nice, refreshing change that no one would expect from him. I'm so hoping that Mike decides to dump all these producers he's working with and just go at it alone. Yeah it most likely wont happen, but I can still dream can't I? lol

BULLLLLLSH********T.

I can't believe someone would actually say that.

"He doesn't show what he's capable of".

What the HELL has he been doing over the last 40 years?

Calm the fuck down. He doesn't. His voice coach Seth Riggs has said that he doesn't sing on record nearly as well as he does when he's working with him in private and I know he doesn't show the full array of his versatitlity as a dancer. Nor does he do so as a composer. His own sister Janet has said people don't know what he's capable of, that he's written several classical, orchastral pieces of music which the public has never heard. Michael isn't a show off, and he holds back big time. Believe whatever you want, but if you understood what you were looking at with Michael, you would be able to tell from that alone that he isn't showing what he's actually capable of.

lol, i used to think that but listen long enough and close enough and you see they are brilliant, both songs. Amazing vocal performances in both songs and composition.
you also left out Childhood, that's probably his best song by himself.

It's about time Michael wrote/ composed/ arranged and produced a whole album by himself. I think Michael wastes his time and money hiring the current hottest producers for each of his albums since Dangerous. The only other producer that will ever match Quincy Jones work with Michael is Michael Jackson himself.

Fans and music lovers are more likely to hear innovative, yet a commercially accessible album that isn't over produced if Michael produces a whole album by himself. It would stand a great chance of being artistically Michael's greatest album.

that would be the best thing ever so far all songs he did write and compose himself were much better then the ones he cowrote
look at speechless and songs like that they are absolutely amazing
but whatever he wants to do i m sure he ll has so much influence on the endproduct thast its a hit anyway

In my opinion, that would be the best thing there could ever happen.

Would truely be amazing!

Prince sometimes does his own engineering, because his engineers like Susan Rogers says Prince works too much for other people who want to sleep, have families, etc. As far as instruments there have been plenty of "one man bands" like:
Prince
Stevie Wonder
Paul McCartney
Terrence Trent D'arby
Teena Marie
Jesse Johnson
Roger Troutman
George Michael
Wendy Melvoin
Ray Parker Jr.
Ian Anderson
Jane Child
Lenny Kravitz
Babyface
Steve Winwood
Shuggie Otis
Frank Zappa

Lmao, that made me crack up for some reason. Some people are just ish starters and like arguing just for the sake of arguing. Anyhoo, I agree with what most of what you said. Yes, Michael has a big ego (which is well deserved if you ask me, anyone would have an ego if they'd accomplished even half of what he has!), but you never hear him talking about how great or talented he is like Kanye West or some other ego maniac. You can tell that Michael knows he's great, but he always tries to come across as humble and shows respect for those that have opened doors for him in the music business, this is why I don't mind him having a big ego. He's more than earned it lol. In regards to his talent, I agree that we haven't seen all that he can do. I believe there is still much more to come from Mr. MJ.

Nah, I still believe "Stranger In Moscow" is the best song he's ever written...but eh, I have a love/hate relationship with that "Childhood" song. I do agree however that his voice sounds amazing in it. Haunting even.

Yeah cinnamon, I agree. Michael definitly knows how talented he is, he know's what he's capable of, he just doesn't show it off for whatever reason and he never talks about his talent in any kind of egotistical manner, even though he would be more then justified if he did. He's so freakin' talented. Like Muhammad Ali said, it's not bragging if you can do it. Michael's the kind of talent that, if you mention it, he can probably do it, lol. Like the title of Sammy Davis' autobiogrophey "yes I can."

Just to comment on "Childhood", as I'm sure you all know by now, that's like my favorite Michael Jackson song, lol. It's brilliant melodically, atmospherically, lyrically it's really good, the vocal dilivery is out of this world, and it takes you through a range of emotions, from highs to lows. It's just incredible.

In addition to new artists(which I don't like) there has been some say of him of him getting back his old dream team(That I like)! Santana has confirmed working with Michael and Quincy!

Now to answer the question, oh yeah! I think that would be dynamite!
