How do you deal with loneliness?

Go out and do sports. Sport lifts your mood, especially when you do it with others.

At first I invited a friend to hang out.
Then, I started looking at myself and wanting a change for the better. So I started creating things that I would like to live off of later.
Now I use my time alone, which is almost the entire day, to learn about what I want to do and work on it.

I found something that makes me happy, keeps me busy and with my head full of important and necessary things.
I think I pushed it to a limit, because I took on so much work and projects that sometimes I seek solitude to be able to continue, rejecting outings or stopping inviting friends on the weekends.

Sometimes it is tiring, but I enjoy the time of resting with myself much more. Watch a series, or political channels from my country... maybe a comedian, laugh, eat junk food and rest for the next day.

Sports and hobbies. I also give myself permission to watch a lot of TV without guilt, though it usually leads to more boredom :)

One way to go about this is to set yourself little goals throughout the day to keep your mind busy and reinforce the mentality that you have things worth living for.

That is, keep your mind busy with hobbies and time them. For instance, forcing yourself to play a video game for 2 hours and only 2 hours - at first, you may feel reluctant and hopeless taking it on, but at the end of 2 hours, you feel like your mind has had a “breath of fresh air” and that you’ve accomplished something, all in a tidy 2 hour timeframe.

Another way (as recommended to me by a mental health nurse) is, when you’re feeling low or sad or pitiful, ask yourself, “What would I be like if I was in a good mood?” This switching the mood really helps and gives a “A-ha!” moment.

Hope this helps. 😊
