how come..

There's rarely any studio footage of Michael at all - and I don't know how good his skills on the piano were.
Only piano footage I can think of is that Pepsi commercial where he sings "I'll Be There", but that's most certainly playback.
There are a couple of pictures on him in front of the piano though.

yeah, we do not know the extent of his talent. Even the Beatboxing was a suprise to me. I knw he was singer and backup singers and chorus in his songs. he did it all. I think he played the bongo as a child..I would love to see him in the studio..when he puts out that powerful voice.
 
umm, cause he wasn't a pianist??
