HMH Official UK Singles Chart-Reaches Number 11

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

is it good for UK?

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

yes, this is good to say that it was only released a couple of days ago, there's been little promotion and the video isn't released yet, I can see it being top 5 this time next week :)

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

well it might not break the top ten this week but when the video and album drop maybe it will get the attention it deserves
i just bought a copy from hmv
so one step closer !!

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

Due to midweek sales it's currently at 14, but it could chart higher than that when the new chart standings comes out.

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

Why isn't it climbing higher on the US charts? Why aren't they playing it on the radio? Is it on the radio in the UK?

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

13 first week !!!

That is GREAT !!!

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

Still a chance for top 10 on Sunday. Hopefully with the song charting making people who were unaware it even existed & the video, hopefully number one next week.

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

If HMH video gets a lot of airplay on MTV, VH1 and other music channels and HMH gets played on major radio stations I think it will be top 10 next week.

Also Michael is released - so maybe HMH will reach top 10.

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

^ Yeah, I agree aprilshack.

Hess, #13 is only midweek chart update. :)

BTW still #11 on UK iTunes

Ahh, ok. Then chances for a better position is even better. :punk:

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

Crazy, isn't it?

Not crazy, but its an example of strong promotion of the kid, and its pretty weird that kids are being just products through forcible promotion...

well, if such kids are better promoted or "successful" than legends like Michael... then something is wrong....

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

Something wrong in the music world..lol.

I'll keep emailing radio stations.

There has been something wrong with the music industry for a long time. Willow, Justin Bieber and Co. And Lady Gaga only seems great because of the lame competition..... She would have looked average at best in the 90s or 80s.

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

I have been posting the midweek updates on another thread all week, but I'll post this here as it seems appropriate.

HMH has moved up to #11 in the official UK midweek chart.

Thursday Midweek Chart Update

Quote:
Singles

1 Black Eyed Peas
2 Willow
3 Ellie Goulding
4 Rihanna [OG]
5 X Factor Finalists

Top 15
11 Michael Jackson & Akon
13 Coldplay
15 Alexandra Burke

Top 20
Alexa Goddard

Top 30
26 Kylie Minogue
29 Eminem & Rihanna

Top 40
Manic Street Preachers
Michael Buble (Hollywood)
In the first chart (published Tuesday morning) HMH was @ #14.
In the second chart (published Wednesday morning) HMH was @ #13.
Today it is @ #11.

This chart includes all sales from registered retailers (digital and physical) from 00:01 on Sunday. The sales are (unofficially) published daily. I'll add tomorrow's numbers here if I remember.

Unfortunately the song has stalled at #11 on itunes, so we may not see much increase between now and Saturday night, but fingers crossed.

The No.9 album sold 33,410 in the UK last week, so we could see sales of nearly 30,000 for HMH which is pretty good IMO.

IF there is some advertising on X Factor on Saturday (that's a big IF) then maybe HMH could crack the top10

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

Thanks bobmoo.

I may have to go and download a copy from iTunes to help it crack that 'top 10'. (wink)

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

I really hope it makes to #10.

Then it is a top 10 song. - That's great.

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

god, i will see a top 10 in the uk.

Re: The Official UK Singles Chart Update

just a question!

Is it legal to sell album a week/a few days before the official sales????
Does this album count to the official album sales????

I am really disappointed with US charts. Hold My Hand is #66 now and last week was #50. Maybe UK can save Hold My Hand. It is a great song. I hope that it will enter top 10 next week in UK.

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

Michael loved us London fans, he deserves to be in the top 10 at least!
Currently at #11 we CAN do this!!

Yes. It happens all the time, all over the world.

All these 'early' shipments will count in the first official weeks sales.

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

As Calotte says, the song is currently at #11 in the midweek chart.

It was #14 on Tuesday and #13 yesterday (when this thread was started)

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

Number 11 now so hopefully top 10 by the end of the week. Here's hoping anyway, Mike deserves it.

Re: 'Hold My Hand' set to debut at No. 14 in the UK charts

Is anyone else constantly watching this thread praying for it to go top ten.
