HELP| arranging my MJ pictures..

Im not sure if this is the correct forum to write this message, so forgive me if im wrong..

I have many many MJ pictures in my computer, all in one folder X(
and it became almost impossible to find pictures
(I have to go through all of them before I find the one that I'm looking for)

How do you organize your MJ pictures? (by eras? how do you name the pictures so they will be organized?)
PLEaSE Help Me!!!!
 
i got my photobucket account/s and i arrange mj photos by Eras, or by events or by anything that will easily distinguish the pics from the others (i.e. THE GOLD PANTS FOLDER instead of putting the gold pants pics in the HISTORY ERA folder)..... i dont rename them so only the folder name is my guide to know which era or year this pics are belonged..
 
I just went through MJJPictures and matched them all up. It took a while but now they're perfectly organised.
 
You'll be sorry you asked. I'm obsessed with organization when it comes to just about every aspect of my life. :lol:

First, I have two main folders: "Michael Jackson," and "MJ and Friends."
In "Michael Jackson," I've got sub-folders for eras (HIStory Era, Jacksons Era, Bad era, etc). I've got a separate one for magazine or newspaper articles or pictures.

Then, in those sub-folders, I have ones for "Photoshoots," "Performances," Short Films," etc. Anything else that doesn't fit those is just in the era folder.

In "MJ and Friends" I put all the pictures of him with friends, family, other celebrities, his kids, etc.

The only thing that's not really organized on there is my "Misc." folder. I put pictures from the past 5-6 years on there since they don't really have an era to be associated with. I don't want to make a "Last years" folder. :(
 
:wild: oh Lord, please mnj1985 would you then organize my files as well, am wobbling through them like a blind drunk:hysterical: And constantly searching for something either pics or other files.

Goodness don't ask me that:hysterical:, please, I have tons of everything..everywhere, all over the place. Some of the pics are coming in all sizes, you know, its how I would find them, and quickly save them so they wouldn't flee or something.:hysterical:

What I would suggest you do is start saving the pictures under names that will be more helpful in indicating what they are (if you haven't done so already). For example, if you have any pictures of Mike at the World Music Awards from 2006, I would start saving them under "WMA06-1," "WMA06-2", etc. If you know what or where certain pictures are from, this is what I would do.

Then, after you've done all that, you can make folders for the different eras/time periods, and start sticking the pictures in their proper folders. If you want to be really anal-retentive about it, you can make all the little sub-folders like I did.

Oh, and:lmao: at ladyinhislife's "GOLD PANTS FOLDER." We need a gold pants smilie!
 
That's a good question.
I have a 280 MB folder that I named "to sort" but I can't find the courage to go through it.
My intention is to organize the pics by eras and in each folder classify the pictures by event, photoshoot, short film (etc..) and, if not possible, at least by year.
I just have some problems with the oldest pictures though, the ones of Mike as a child or with his brothers at the times of the Jackson 5....

I have a "Gold pants" folder too! :naughty:

For the pictures taken after the trial I created a "Recent" folder, it sounds less....depressing
 
um...i just opened a folder and putted all of Michael 's pics into there, and i will also saved a copy in my USB...since i can make sure that i will not miss them...

um, am sorry to say, but its obvious id fall under those oral retentive ones or shall i name it "a total mess":hysterical:

I used to know how to make smilies, if only i could remember the craft:doh:
oh even the messiest ones have at least one folder in order, and thats the gold pants one. (myself included)

I have one folder named Michael Jackson
in there are main folders:

Younger (Jackson 5 etc.)
70's (The Jacksons/Off the wall era)
80's (Thriller/Bad/Bad world tour)
90's (Dangerous world tour/HIStory world tour)
00's (00-03, Trials, 05-08, then a 2009 - This Is It folder :( which is empty..)

also I have a folder for Animations, Backgrounds, Screen shots & Other (messages, tributes etc.)

I prefer having a neat organised file
 
Haha I remember starting with only one folder. It became impossible very quickly! Now I have one section with medium quality photos arranged by eras and eras by events (if known). Then I have the HQ section also divided like the "normal folder" by eras and events. And they both have "unassorted" folders.

I just remembered HQ photos used to be rare! I only had a few! Then I discovered steady-laughing.com site and added the HQ section. I think it was in 2005.
 
Hey guys, thank you all very very much!! :D My pictures are going to be finally arranged.

mnj1985 - Im TOTALLY obsessed with organization lol, that's why this unorganized folder disturb me so much :p
I think i'll make folders for the different eras and save under names that hopefully help me to know where are they from.

Oh and btw… im voting for Gold Pants Smilie!! 
