which soundtracks which you feel are good or great come from weak or wack movies? speak on it.

Barbershop 2 wasn't a bad movie, but I thought the soundtrack was an awesome blend of stuff and of a higher level than the film in represented.

The Woman In Red - Soundtrack by Stevie Wonder. The songs "I Just Called To Say I Love You" and "Love Light In Flight" came from this soundtrack. Awesome tracks.

well Purple Rain comes to mind. probably an unpopular opinion, but dramatically/cinematographically it sucked and aged pretty badly.

and Spike Lee's borefest Crooklyn had some well-chosen classics

the blue brothers movies. great soundtrack, silly movies
The Blues Brothers is a classic. Blues Brothers 2000, not so much, lol. It's pretty much an exact replica of the 1st movie, just with modern cars and not fun, lol. But the 2nd one has "The Louisiana Gator Boys" which is the best part of the whole movie.

im not saying they're not classics. im saying they're wack lol. seriously if u take away the great music legends that appear in both movies and their great performances u'll get two lousy boring movies.

To me, the 1st one is not boring or lousy at all. The sequel was lame though. I guess you have to be of a certain era to appreciate it. I was a big fan of the car chase stuff like "The Blues Brothers", "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World", "Smokey And The Bandit", "Cannonball Run 1 & 2", etc. Then there were TV shows like "The Dukes Of Hazzard", "B.J. And The Bear" and its spinoff "The Misadventures Of Sherriff Lobo". The TV movie "Duel" is a great non-comedy one. I have the Dukes episodes on DVD. No I haven't seen the theater movie, lol. I had no interest in seeing it with different actors and raunched up. But I did tape the 2 reunion movies.
Arxter, I consider "Under The Cherry Moon" to be Prince's best movie. His worst was "3 Chains O' Gold". But at least the music parts (from the 1992 Symbol album) are good.

The Wiz, excellent music but mediocre film
Every Prince film has a cold soundtrack but God awful movies
Trouble Man was a crappy film but killer cuts by Marvin
IMO, The Five Heatbeats had great music, but it was a terrible film.
Waiting To Exhale, excellent music, but I can't stand that movie
A person mentioned Saturday Night Fever, I disagree but you're on the right track. The sequel Staying Alive was laughable compared to SNF, but the music was decent.

Mo' Money isn't a good movie, but the soundtrack is great.

Against All Odds wasn't a very good movie, but the soundtrack was amazing. One of my favorites.
