---omg 2300 is a street that i will visit one day----

the whole jackson clan all grace their many years ago

has anyone ever visit the famous house

i wonder if papa jo will turn it to a museum afterwards

do anyone have any answers???????????

The Jackson family doesn't own the house. People live in it, it's not a historical marker or anything. It's really tiny, so would be unsuitable for a museum anyway. On a side note, Deniece Williams is also from Gary.

i bet no one would live there if the jacksons didn't live there. the place is so tiny. but i'm sure that whoever is living there now is glad they are in the house of a legend.

Tito said his uncle live's there and I think the house belong to the jackson family there supposed to be a documentary, celebrating the motown anniversary that will take the brothers, back to gary, to the house and other location in gary indiana, tito said in a interview in janurary 2009

Most of the houses in the neighborhood are the same size, and people live in those also.

well it's kinda moot since i just read that tito's uncle lives there. i know peeps are affected by mj living there since the state loves to mention that mj is a native son

oh cool..neat that you want to see the house. i drove past it quite a few times..but i grew up in gary so it was right there. i guess its worth it if you really want to see the childhood home. i mean its where it all started! not california!
its a crap area though. like a smaller version of detroit, shitty buildings. if anything if you come you might as well drive by the high school the older kids went to, or the palace theater..the sign out front has a falling down ''jackson 5 tonight '' or even driving by the steel mills if you really want to get the feel of gary and how it was for them as a fan. then you will realize why michaels father wanted the hell outta here.

and well its not the best place for a museum..but it would be cool because then they will be here for the opening i guess and i wouldnt have to go far lol

I'm from Indiana as well, also about 3 hours away. I'm actually like a direct straight shot east away from Gary. I was about 30 miles away from his house last weekend but didn't drive through to see. For one I was being a complete MORON and when I was typing the address in to my GPS instead of putting Jackson St down for the Street I put 2300 Jackson Street and it kept telling me it couldn't find it. Well DUH haha 2300 is the house number. OMG I felt so stupid after I realized that on the way home.

I had to go back to Warsaw which is like 2 hours away, and then drive home which is an hour and a half away from Warsaw...so the extra 40 minute drive just to SEE Michael's house was a little out of the question that day :( Even though I really wanted to go!

And yea, I would say Indiana is really proud of their Hoosier Native MJ :) ! LOL Everyone is talkin' about how he was born here lately.

We aren't really ones that are talked about a lot!! (Except for the few singers and celebs we have, not very many of them are mentioned as being from Indiana, unless you read a bio or watch David Letterman -- who went to the college I'm at, btw -- or if you have John Mellencamp's Indiana album/song.)

Michael has made Indiana more well-known across the globe! (Apart from the Indy 500...)

Thanks, Michael!
