So I wanna know without me sounding too morbid or anything

What songs would you like to have played at your own funeral?

or alternatively has there ever been some beautiful songs you've heard at a funeral?

Bring out the cliche songs and all let's hear em :flowers:

For me I can't think of any right now except maybe:

You have been loved - george michael
I started a joke - bee gees
(Our love) don't throw it all away - bee gees

but really for my funeral I want a party, I don't want some sad event I'd rather people celebrate the time they spent with me (or celebrate that I'm gone either way I'm happy  )
so maybe the song I'd really want is:

- Always look on the bright side of life - Monty Python :D

As for songs I've found beautiful at funeral's in the past, I can only think of one at the moment:

- Acker Bilk - Stranger on the shore (at my grandfather's funeral, was his favourite piece of music ever and was lovely to say goodbye to him with).

it's not morbid, i've thought of it before - lol but i dont think that is what not make it morbid - just natural i think - i would like someone to play Michael singing smile at mine

smile is a lovely song :)

I have a version Diana Ross did on an old LP and it sounds great coming from her too :)

ahhh cheesy lol if i had to choose though, i'd get a titantron for this

Busta Rhymes - Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check

I wanna have Michael Jackson-You Are Not Alone, its not my favoruite song of him, but I think it fits a funeral the best
Ryan Adams-Wonderwall

I really like Death Cab For Cutie-I Will Follow You Into The Dark, but that sounds so weird when Im playing it on my own funeral, like I want the ones I love to die too :p

maybe Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats or Joseph Arthur - In The Sun instead of Death Cab

and when they walk out with the coffin and stuff, I want them to play Michael Jackson-Will You Be There

^ yeah that ans "One Sweet Day" with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men

I also love "The day you went away" by Wendy Matthews

Trouble of The World-Mahalia Jackson

OR

The Supremes-Someday We'll Be Together

Some good ones for funeral

- Gone too soon
- Will you be there
- Little Susie
- Smile
(Damn, Michael has tons of funeral songs lol)
- Dance with my father - Luther Van Dross
- Westlife- Seasons in the sun
- Elton John - Dont Let the Sun go down on me
- Elton John - Song for Guy

an many others...
I think in my funeral I would want Amazin Grace, WYBT and Dont Let the Sun go down on me...

"No One But You"- Only The Good Die Young- Queen
"Goodbye"- Lionel Richie
"Angels Amoung Us"- Alabama

A lot of people chose Gone to soon, But what if you live to be very old then that song doesnt really fit :mello:

I dunno what I want yet. :bugeyed

Show Must Go On - Queen
Canddle In The Wind - Elton John :boohoo:
