There isn't much to report as there are still those rumors out there about the O2 concerts and the auction that is coming up in April,so here are a few mentionings.

Michael Jackson Mentionings:

"He performed Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' during a school talent show, and he got a standing ovation," say Carleton Johnson, Elijah's father.
Elijah went on to win several other talent contests such as the Metropolitan Detroit Youth Idol competition last year. He has been in local commercials and performed before Gov. Jennifer Granholm in December.

Rahman developed a trademark by mixing traditional Indian tunes with International beats from African drums to electronic funk. The composer is also famous for his fondness to the newest sound and technologies in the world of music. His 1998 super-hit c omposition 'chaiyya chaiyya' which was deeply rooted in Sufi mysticism, became a rage among Indians and is still considered one of the best compositions of the musician. Rahman gradually became a known face on the international platform and in 1999 he performed with Michael Jackson in Munich for 'Michael Jackson and Friends Concert'.

I was shocked by the agglomeration of people at the reading. When she walked on stage and spoke I felt as if I might have a Michael Jackson (1980s) moment - the moment where he comes on stage and women hyperventilate and are pulled from the crowd by EMS workers. I actually cried.

The group also sang a medley of songs including parts of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal."
"I was really proud of it," said Carolina Franch, a sophomore member of the Opportunes. "We're really pleased with how we did. There were a couple last-minute things we were tweaking, and it all turned out really well. 'Lady Marmalade' was good and we got some good laughs, which was good. We even got laughs for Michael Jackson, and normally we kind of just get 'awws'."

"I really became a director on Fame. I learned all about the camera. After the show ended, I directed a lot of things. I did the pilot of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and discovered Jada Pinkett-Smith."
She also released two solo albums and choreographed world tours for Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey.

But then an affecting song like "Ghetto," done a cappella, or his yearning reboot of Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Sometin' " would set the mood right again as he sang crisply in his hyperarticulated croon. The lilting, reggae-flecked "Mama Africa" was a high point for both the night and the singer himself. He clearly relished paying homage to his Senegalese homeland while being carried through the sold-out crowd on his bodyguard's shoulders in one of his many forays onto the floor.

My contract with Universal, which has done much for me, is over. But I think Frochot Musique/Pias, the new label with which I am working, is quite appropriate, since it has already distributed Michael Jackson’s works," said Afia Mala.

Michael Jackson HIStory:

1995 - Michael Jackson was awarded the Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award.

2000 - At the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Carlos Santana received a record-tying eight Grammy's. Michael Jackson set the record back in 1984 when he won awards for "Thriller."

2005 - The jury for the Michael Jackson child molestation trial was selected. The process for selecting eight alternates began.

Thanks Dorothy!! "Jai Ho" is really exciting to listen to...and the dancing they did last night was phenomenal...those Indian dancers had not only traditional Hindu moves going, but also incorporated Hip Hop moves too. I didn't know Rahman performed with MJ? I wonder if MJ is going to use him for some songs on the new album? If so, that would be just wicked pisser..
