Hey everyone, maybe this has been discussed already, so if there is such a thread already, please merge; anyhow, i meant to ask you all - what are your favorite music lyrics? Anything from a couple of words to entire stanzas goes. Clever rhymes and smart phrases or simply awe inspiring words painting pictures in your head, uplifting the spirit and seducing the mind - put them all in here.

I got a whole list of songs gathered, but there are far too many to put into one message. I'll actually leave Michael out, for now, cause he deserves a special part lol; i do feel his literary talent (both in terms of poetry and deep prose) is his most underrated, his song writing being second in terms of lack recognition of his brilliance. The Lord blessed him with so many talents that people often overlooked some of them. They thought of him only as a singer and a dancer, but he was sooooo much more than that; he had a brilliant mind working it overtime producing lyrics, poems and visuals, God bless him.

I'll put my first selection of songs, in no particular order, grouped only by artists. Maybe some Dylan and Cohen fans will join, i know they are much appreciated for their skills, not a great connoisseur over here honestly.

Wow guys, thank you sooo much. It feels good to know i ain't 'talkin' to myself. Although i often engage in very enjoyable conversations with me, myself and i (and amazingly enough all three of us get along foine...how surprising, right? ), this was one occasion when i preferred otherwise.

Hey raz, i saw you posted some lyrics from "I just called to say i love" from Stevie, i cannot begin to tell ya how much that song means to me, thanks so much for including it, i don't know how i let it slip.

Anyways, here goes the 'section' dedicated to Michael's genius. I know some of these lyrics were written in part by other folks, some of them completely, but as he said when he was a young boy (although he might have been taught that line by Motown PR, i'm sure he came to believe in it over time) – he didn't sing it, if he didn't mean it.

I do wish someone would have told him that it was Lenin's tomb that is set up in the Red Square not Stalin's, cause i thank that's the location he meant, but hey, that small errror doesn't take away from the brilliance of the song. In fact, it makes it even more amazing cause like any true piece of art, any crack or stain makes it even more authentic and human, unlike something outta assembly line - endless 'perfect' items of plastic.

These are just some of the songs, both from Michael and other artists i came up with one night when i just scribbled two pages worth of song titles, but in music there is a lot more out there in terms of treasures. I left out a lot of people and genres that i enjoy – Janet, Depeche Mode, Sugababes, Mattafix, DMX, Outlandish, 2Pac, Celine Dion, so much more from Lenny Kravitz, Belinda Carlisle, all kinda good stuff. I guess next time.

I truly appreciate artists (of all kind, but especially musicians) because they translate into words and song their feelings and, at the same time, they speak for all of us; they truly are intermediaries between the divine and humanity. Creativity is the one trait that brings us the closest to God and that is why i can only be in awe of creative people, they truly, really rock.

I gotta admit, i've never been a great Abba fan, but lately i've come to relate to some of their music and one of those pieces i really like now is Thank you for the music. I think it fits perfectly in this thread cause that's what we all owe to these wonderful people - a huge thank you for making us laugh, smile, cry and most of all, FEEL. God bless them all.
