Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were the songwriting duo responsible for the Elvis Presley classics "Hound Dog", "Jailhouse Rock", "Love Me", "Loving You", "Don't" and "King Creole", and amongst others:
"Kansas City", "Stand By Me" (with Ben E. King), and "On Broadway" (with Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil).
He died in Los Angeles at the age of 78 on August 22, 2011, from cardio-pulmonary failure. He was survived by his sons Jed, Oliver and Jake.
He will be greatly missed
