Eid Mubarak (Happy Eid) to all Muslims here on MJJC

I didnt knoww u were Paki Raz, although ur name does indicate it a bit (truth) :p

I am not "paki", I am half cast; half Indian and half white and I find that term very offencive and my name is Ryan, which is an english name

despite all the conversation above, i would like to wish all muslims happy eid mubarak no matter what races, color and religion, keep the love spread.

Happy Eid everyone. I am a Unitarian myself but embrace all faiths. Please refrain from using the P word. It is very, very offensive. Michael would have been shocked.

Lol I'm surprised at how offensive "Paki" apparently is. I know it's slang but I always just took it as short for Pakistani. I don't get what's offensive about it, unless a person was saying it with a hateful tone, in which case it would be offensive no matter what word was used. IMO this is a case of something being made offensive just for the sake of it when there's nothing inherently offensive about it. You're just shortening up a word lol.

Regardless of all of that, this Paki says Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating. :)

^ That doesn't explain what's offensive about it though, other than if you called somebody who wasn't Pakistani a "Paki". I agree that that's offensive since you'd be generalizing a person for looking a certain way, but otherwise....?

I don't know if it's just an English thing but here people mainly do use it in a racist way, pretty much the same as using "the N word".

Anyway, I'm not Muslim but Happy Eid to everybody who is celebrating. :)

Haha, I'm from Pakistan too...small world, ain't it? Didn't know that you guys were Pakistani's as well. Anyway, Eid Mubarak! May you all have a great time celebrating with your family and friends! Oh yeah...and EATING as well!! 30 days of fasting sure teach me to appreciate food :).

Edit: I have a question - A while ago, I think Gaz had some Arabic writing posted in his signature. I can't remember it what it said, but it made me wonder - Is he of Arab descent? Is he Muslim?
