Microsoft Security Essentials.

Not only is it free, but it's also the best. Beats all the paid-for anti-virus software (which are actually crap).

Get Malwarebytes as well and perform a full scan as soon as you've installed it. It hasn't got real-time protection so just use it to do a full scan every month and let MSE do its thing.

For me Spy-Bot is one that's always helped me quite often, I've been using for quite awhile now here's the site

After it's installed I believe it will automatically update it which will bring your program up to date on all the bad viruses and stuff out there , then just do a full scan and you should be good :yes:

I will continue to trust my contacts on this matter. I completely agree on running Malware Bytes Anti-Malware however.

U have to get AVAST. From AVAST.com. Great anti-virus software, and it's free. Also Malwarebytes.org.
