This popped up in my head today…
Michael for example sang “butterflies” completely how the songwriter wanted it to sound so he should not get a credit for this song but what about a song like “heaven can wait”? I’m fairly certain he wrote almost nothing of it but you can’t deny MJ’s signature is on this track during the ad libs. I seems to be the kind of song he just embraced and did his thing with.
But this is a bad example as I just noticed Michael did receive a writing credit for the song…
