Did the Estate plan to release the Triumph Tour in 2010?

It could be because film footage from the backstage was used at the OTW documentary so the show was possibly filmed too.

There was talk about something been released which involved the bros. But in order for it to happen permission was needed from them. Some or one ie randy refused. It was talked about at the time. Whether it was the above i cant remember. Maybe someone else does?

Source? I don't believe that they refuse to make some good money. Did you know that a Victory tour Laserdisc was going to be released? Michael was the one who refused.

Wow, does anyone actually owns this Laser Disc? It says that it has surround sound. Imagine that. Was this show shot on film?

As usual, it's probably in hands of someone who doesn't know the value of the item

Wasn't it this? From what I know this was uploaded to the Jacksons official VEVO Channel & then taken down, not 100% certain.

Do you mean this?

It's clearly from the Destiny Tour and not from September 25th 1981.

No idea it was posted on here at the time. I dont care enough to go hunting. If people are intrested they can do a search.

Randy and some others are certainly stupid enough to turn down $ because of their issues with the estate. Jackie and others are clever enough to play along even if they dont like them. We have seen that.

Damn, I can't remember the details and don't have a source. But I also remember that there have been talks about a Jacksons tour in the past, and that some of the brothers did not want to release it.
Does anybody else have some more information?

That is from LA 84 I think. Yeah it's weird even that clip didn't last on their channel for very long lol. I say we ask Taj to ask his uncles. Or is it that so many people were involved on the business side that it would take forever to get a solid deal? I don't know but this tour deserves a release...

Actually it's not from LA 1984, it's from at least 2 different shows. I know one of them is from a New York show (I believe Buffalo) & the other may also be from another New York show.

The Victory Tour release was planned from 1986-1989 IIRC (I honestly can't remember anything from this, barely anything from it has been put out). Seeing the video that's the most likely sourced from the laserdisc, it's honestly very lacking but still beautiful to me, the close-up angles they use on Michael is wonderful.

Also on the note of the Triumph Tour, LA 9/26/81 seems the most likely in terms of release, the footage was used to promote the Live album, every time they mention the tour/Jacksons, they seem to bring up this & LA 9/25/81, also they seem to have Multitrack audio? (At least that would explain why they edited the live vocals from the Docu during "Don't Stop"). Then again, Yokohama has been commonly shown yet we only have a TV broadcast.

I would say Triumph tour has multitracks because of the Live album they released. Just my guess though. I remember there was a VT buffalo 84 clip that I cant find anymore.

Also that, each song isn't just 1 show, but multiple shows combined to make a whole album (which is why you can hear some Michael echo while Michael is singing, it's from another recording). That was 1981 though, i'm worried that they might have lost them (wouldn't doubt the estate at this point, hahaha)

yeah since according to the estate Mjs storage is "sporadic" who knows what is left in tact. I think if Mjs family, especially his kids were involved in releases we would be better off...

I wish they would hire me to sort.... man they are LAZY

The Victory Tour from Los Angeles has been shot on 35mm film as well.

The Jacksons are known to have 2-3 of the LA shows on tape, almost Toronto quality but wayyyy better. The Estate also has one of the New York shows on tape.

The cleanest show i've seen yet is def. the one they showed during the Chicago special, though the VHS recording ruins it, they also use some of it during the Billie Jean video.

Honestly if any show has to leak, I think I would love to see one with the Red Lame Jacket, this thing is honestly beautiful & it's a shame no footage has been released. As far as I know, this was used at least on 4-5 different shows.

Bro, every show was recorded in that quality (Toronto's master tape surely looks like the LA snippets), but Lounis is talking about film which nobody knows for sure.

Do you have any source of this? This tour deserves to be released. Package it with Thriller 4K.

Patrick Kelly confirmed it a couple of years ago. This show was shot on film with serversoftware 35mm camera’s.

I don't know about L.A...it may have been shot on film.

We have this report from one of the Chicago shows and they talk about the miles of film they shot before reaching Chicago.

^Yeah but it's just Patrick filming all the footage, so I guess they would have to mix different shows to release a complete HD concert.

That album is great. -Energy is amazing - and 100 % live, no playback.

I hope for more live albums.
