Hi everyone,

hope it's the correct section :)

Yesterday I read the credits of Will Smith's "Willennium" album. There's this one song called "Can you feel me" which has samples of "working day and night" which is also mentioned in the credits. But then I read that Michael is named as the first song writers of this song as well.
Does someone have information? If I recall correctly, there are no lyrics of WDAN except of one or two ad-lips. Is that enough to be named as a song writer or is it because of the samples of WDAN or did Will and Michael indeed write a song together?

Just wondering :)

Thanks :flowers:

Michael Jackson is the writer of "Working Day and Night" It was released on his Off the Wall Album
Wlll Smith is Sampling parts of the song so he has to give Michael credit for writing the song

:wub:..

Yes, I know the song and I know that Michael wrote it ;)

My question is about Will Smith's "Can you feel me?" because Michael is listed as first song writer in the official booklet of "Willennium". I'm wondering if Michael really co-wrote "Can you feel me?". I'm just wondering if someone has more information on this collab.

^^ No, Mike didn't co-writte the song with Will Smith. But as Qbee said because Will sampeled Working day and Night, MJ had to be credited as a co-writter.

Oh wow I misread your post. :blush: oh well it gave me an excuse to post that awesone video
Im sure someone here can help find more info on "Can you feel me" I always through MJ
was credited becuase Will Sampled WDAN

@qbee
Nevermind :) Thanks for your quick help offer anyway :flowers:

@teli-mj
So, Will had to list Michael as writer additionally?
I'm gonna post a pic, it's difficult to explain what I mean since english is not my first language LOL

That confused me. Maybe I got it wrong?

It's because the whole instrumental of WDAN is in it throughout as the backing track. You don't have to have the lyrics in a sample to get song writing credit.

Thanks for your answer, mjmirror!

Just found my error in reasoning: I confused and equate song writer with lyricsist. Oopsie! o_O
