Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

Feel free to move this if it's not in the right section. :S

Michael Jackson's Children Spend Weekend in Vegas
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20299946,00.html?xid=rss-topheadlines

With their grandma by their side, Michael Jackson's children had a splashing good time over the weekend in Las Vegas.

Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. "Blanket"), 7, were spotted at the Palms Casino Resort's pool sipping on virgin strawberry-banana daiquiri's on Sunday. They, along with three friends, dunked each other in the pool and swam around for more than two hours. Blanket, wearing a life preserver, even showed some of his moves, dancing on the edge of the pool before jumping in the water.

Katherine Jackson kept a close eye, accompanied by a friend and nanny, and smiled over the pool-side antics.

It wasn't all fun in the sun, though, as the children dined in fashion, too. With their uncle Jermaine with them on Saturday night, the family had dinner at Vegas hotspot N9NE Steakhouse's private dining room.

It may have seemed like just a quiet weekend at home to them though – the kids lived at the Palms Hotel with their father for about two months in early 2008.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

Aw that's good! Glad they where in the pool, Vegas is just so hot!

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

The media should stop stalking the kids and report on their every move. But I guess the tragic truth is that everybody kept saying that about Michael and still everybody read all about it..will the history repeat? Will the cycle break? Will the kids have the respect and privacy they need and deserve?

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

Aw, it's really nice to hear that they're doing ok and having fun. :) They need to enjoy this while they can.
I just wish the media would leave them alone...I hope they stay away from them and respect their privacy now and in the future years to come.

Nephew: Michael joined family weeks before death

Tito’s son says musician talked openly about his creative plans

LOS ANGELES - A nephew of Michael Jackson says his uncle joined a large family dinner a few weeks before he died, and talked openly about his creative plans beyond the 50-date concert stint in London.
Jackson gathered with about 50 members of his family for dinner at an Indian restaurant a few weeks before he died, Taj Jackson, the 36-year-old son of Tito Jackson, said outside a courtroom during a hearing Friday.
That night was the last time he saw his uncle, who "was just enjoying being with the family." He said they spoke only of the future.

"He had his next chapter mapped out," Taj Jackson said. "He wanted to do this (tour) and get on to the next chapter. The last words he said to me were, 'We're gong to do film after this.'" He said Jackson was interested in directing.

Taj Jackson said he was one of the family members who argued against burying the singer at his Neverland estate because after his trial on child molestation charges, Jackson came to hate the place. He remembered spending idyllic times there as a child, but after the trial, "it destroyed the magic."

"Neverland was never an option to us," he said. "It brought so much pain to him."

Taj said that in his last years, Jackson had few people he could trust and sometimes turned to his nephew for assistance.
"He really had an innocent heart," he said, "and that was something people took advantage of."

Taj Jackson took the stand Friday at a hearing to determine whether a proposed deal to display his uncle's memorabilia could go forward between the estate and concert promoter AEG live. His testimony was meant to bolster his grandmother's opposition to the deal, but a judge approved it later Friday.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

Michael would have wanted them to continue to be happy instead of being a depress and stuff. I don't like the fact that the media is following them, but i like that the kids are doing fine.

I know! There should be some new laws against this and if these "journalists" claim that the children are public figures then does that mean all journalists are as well and too deserved to be stalked?

This is ridiculous! They need to just stop already. Those are children. Their dad was the celebrity and this should stop. I know some people may be curious about what the kids are up to but is it really anyone's business?

Tabloids just put out crap that people buy and people think they must know but really it's nobody's business.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

i'm gald they are ok.they need some fun!this is what Michael would want!

They should but they most likely won't.
I mean look. Fans are posting the articles & their web links to give the site traffic. The media owner interprets that as "well that's what the people wanna see so we'll give it to 'em".

And the sad truth is that even IF all the fans tune stories like these out not buying the magazines, papers or clicking on the website links, there are still many many other people out there who want to look at every single move those kids make.

So in the end it doesn't even matter. I don't expect decency out of the media. They will not self-police or moderate their behavior. The paparazzi will stalk these kids in their bedrooms if not for certain trespassing laws.

I understood immediately why Michael (and/or Debbie whoever started it first) decided to mask his kids in public in order to protect them from some of that intrusiveness.

If you wish on the wealth, make sure to ask for the fame not to be included. Fame can kill.

I just hope Michael's young'uns got really good security. They're gonna need it.

God Bless Them

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

That's wonderful. I just hope the media lets them live their life and doesn't harass them, but i'm glad they seem to be doing okay.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

This made me smile. I'm pretty sure the paps and trash 'reporters' can't get to bother the children much. I think the Jacksons are capable of keeping the circling sharks at bay and kicking some behind if need be.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)

I'm glad they're doing alright.

Re: Michael's kids spend the weekend in Vegas (Article)
