Every day millions of animals are killed in the worst possible way, they are neglected & tortured throughout their lives just so that us humans can enjoy the 'finer things' in life. In the back of my mind i knew that this kinda thing goes on but like most people, I was ignorant to the extent of violence & Cruelty that is repeatedly happening to defensless, innocent animals in fur factories across the world.

A few days ago i signed onto the Peta Website and was shocked and horrified of the videos & images i saw and the extent of cruelty that is going on in this world on a daily basis.

Fashion stores such as Burberry are still selling real Fur straight off the back of a Fox, racoon and other animals used for their fur.

The conditions of these fur factories are horendious, they are locked up in cages not even big enough for them to even move around in. They are exposed to the elements & quite often the confinement sends them 'Cage Mad'. These animals are in desperate need of vetinary attention with severe infections & Diseases.

Their life is ended in the most traumatic way possible. One of the videos i watched showed a poor defensless Fox as he/she was taken from one of the cages & held in the air by 2 men as they pushed a metal probe into it's behind and electricuted it. The Fox Yelped in sheer pain before being thown in a heap on the floor dead.

All this so that BURBERRY and other Fashion shops can sell on the fur to ignorant consumers.

I cried my eyes out after seeing these images and i really can't understand how anyone could be so cuel.

Im asking anyone who is reading this thread to do all they can to help the fight against animal cruelty. Whether thats donating some money to one of the many charities or signing as many petitions as possible or even just making more people aware of the suffering that is going on... It all helps.

Let's do all we can to save these inncocent animals who deserve a better life!!

I don't know why some people have to be cruel to animals. It's horrible what some people do.

Yeah i know, It would be great if the mods could sticky this thread as i feel it's an important issue. People need to do more to help these Innocent Animals.

Im in the process of writing different letters to people that are in a position to do more to get this stopped, I don't know Whether they will take notice of the letters or whether they even manage to reach them but it's still worth a try.

I can't understand why there is people in this world who don't understand that Animals should have just as much rights as us Humans.
 
By not buying or wearing Real fur, or even shopping in these stores that continue to sell it, donating to well established charities or charities local to you that are campaigning for Animal rights or just by making more people aware of the suffering that these Animals indure on a daily basis.

Did you know that Stores across America such as Bloomingdales and a host of others, are selling Real fur as fake? I mean it's terrible whats going on... they are tricking neive consumers into thinking they are buying fake fur when infact its real...

Im even going as far as to write personally to Barack Obama about this...

Maybe my letter will be lost in the many he receives a day but there is a small chance that maybe he might read it. So im gonna do it.

Im sure some people are probably thinking im wasting my time... As there are others that are also fighting for animal rights and have been for years. But the more people who fight gainst it the better.

Fashion Designers such as Stella Mcartney and Tommy Hilfiger do not need to sell real Fur so places like Burberry also need to take the pledge to stop.

It seems that even PETA Can't even be trusted... upon doing more research about the welfare of Animals it seems that Peta are just out for Money. I logged onto there website a few days ago after viewing some of their investigations but now i am finding out more. Apparently they are also killing Animals themselves.

As if thing's aren't bad enough, we have organisations claiming they are doing all they can to stop cruelty then doing it themselves. It's devastating the things that are going on.

PETA makes me ill. Their controversial stunts smack of racism, sexism, and intolerance. I will never support them.

To me, people should never kill animals, whether for clothes or food. It's barbaric. Who gave us the rights to kill animals!

I think you can kill some animals for food, but there's no reason to be cruel about it. Some meat companies are overly cruel when it comes to processing their meat, and there's no excuse for it. It's like they get off on torturing animals.

I'm not a vegetarian, and I don't think I could be one, even if I tried. I love meat too much.
 
Yeah ive found out some terrible things about Peta aswell, Disgusting things.
They have this walk in Freezer that they use, it's obvious that they are using it to kill off the Animals they rescue. I mean what is the point? I really don't get it!

OMG thats ridiculous, It's obvious that the Animals on Michael's ranch were well looked after & cared for... They must of done it for the publicity. It's disgusting. They waste their money chasing people who are caring for their animals when it should be spent saving the ones that are pent up in these Fur Factories. I feel sick thinking about it.

Btw as this is an Awareness thread about Animal Cruelty would it be possible to make it a sticky please?
We have other threads on other important issues such as Black History and Human Rights & it would be nice to have one for Animal rights & Welfare aswell :)
 
I totally agree with you. I am a big time animal lover so of course I am against animal cruelty of any kind. I like to watch these Animal Cops type shows on the Animal Planet Channel. And it always angers and upsets me when I see the kind of abuse those animals are suffering from. From what their owners did to them. It makes me wish I could do to the owners of what those owners did to their animals. But at the end of the show I get very happy when those animals that were rescue are put up for adoption given out to a good home. Because I like seeing healthy happy playful animals with owners that actually loves them and will take good care of them. And one thing I am very grateful for is Oprah is making this one episode of her show about Puppy Mills. And they went to puppy mills near where I live. And I was absolutely shock and horrified when I heard that there were puppy mills near where I live. And when I saw the kind of conditions that those dogs were in it made me even more sick. I am glad that Oprah got the governor of my state to sign this law to permently shut down the puppy mills in my state. Especially this notorious one which is now permently shut down. And I am also against animals being turn in to fur coats. I think it is sick, disgusting, and just plain wrong to do that. And I am still a meat eater but I had given up eating most meats. The only meats I will eat now is chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp, ground up beef, and beef cubes (For beef stew).
 
yea..thanks for putting awareness on this. yea i woudnt support puppy boutique shops, with the puppy mill thing. real pet stores should be animal shelters..where you go adopt animals in need.

at first i was thinking animal haters were lying about peta being bad..but its your call. i dont get how pamela anderson who does not wear fur assoicate with a bad company. but i never understand it all. i read they put animals to sleep which is a big no no to animals lovers unless they are really suffering so much so that we really couldnt help them with surgery or anything.

its all about ASPCA or WorldWildLife.org if your an animal lover.

personally its even hard for me to buy fish or see people put fish in the smallest of fish bowls where they cant even move around. like betta fish. its like hello! how would you feel living in such a small space. i asked about this and the pet store owner said.. ''oh they dont mind'' i was about to say well how would you feel living in a crapped space like that. and then some other day i was in there a dead bunny rabbit was found by me. and ofcourse the owners said oh it was alive this morning. yet it was hard as hell..

i kind of want to mention its not only fur. although fur is made to make alot of things like mink eyelashes even! that jennifer lopez wore to one award show!!

BUT its other parts of animals as well. real leather jackets (which is made out of so many different animals), real suede, elephant trunks..other animal products etc. go into making famous handbags, shoes, dresses, hats. not only fur. and Peta wont talk about that. your expensive handbag handle could be made out of some kind of animal horns.

theres no excuse to wear fur these days..and as mention real fur is sold as fake fur sometimes. but if your going to not wear fur you have to realize wearing real leather and such would be out of the question too.
fur only made sence back when jackets and stores werent around and people only had was animal fur to keep warm. but then we figured out how to make blankets and really it should have stopped after that. if we atleast show fur lovers to wear fake fur it would be a first step.

and about people who eat meat..well eating meat is apart of life. animals eat meat too and they eat human meat as well..we are all living food. people hate to admit that to themselfs though. because we we are ''too superior to animals'' to some. have you noticed usually animal haters tend to think humans are this supreme race..yet we live breathe, have feelings, suffer, and die like any animal. they protect their own like people. elephants are known to visit their families graves like humans. yet some humans still dont get the connection with feelings and animals :smilerolleyes:

but back to meat eating...the thing is some evil people are like psycho killers in the way they kill animals compared to animals killing animals. not all animals.. but some anmals usually strandle prey before eating them. which seems more of a ''polite'' way to kill. plus the animal is a free being before they are killed. whereas people tend to trap, raise animals since birth in the most cramped areas before death. then people cut off beaks, hang them upside down alive, skin seals alive, beat animals with tools, trap them in small as hell cages or cages in general where the animal is literally going nuts like we humans would go nuts trapped in a cage. cows and chickens are constanly used as food, imagion their life. poor turkeys are associated with a freaking human holiday. how many people even eat a whole bird. and then people all over the world feel they have to eat every freakin animal. like turtles? wthell? even our fellow cousins the primates! sounds very cannibal to me. but yea its apart of life. but if your going to be a meat eater. people need to find better ways to kill because what we are doing to torture and its sad people and their brains love torture and cramped places.

You guys are so right, it's good to see others on this board who feel exactly the same way about this as me. It really tears me up inside knowing that there are so many Animals who are in terrible pain and discomfort everyday because of these sick people who don't give a damn.

How can they not know that Animals how ever small feel just as much pain and fear as us??? i mean it's common sense. How can they find it in them to Skin An Animal Alive and do all these other things they do? I just can't comprehend it!!

I think it would really change the way these people think if they could experience a fraction of what they go through everyday. What you said about Puppy mills, its' really bad what's going on. To think people are doing things like that in your own state or anywhere for that matter.. It makes me so Angry & upset.

Im not a vegitarian, i do eat some meats but i wont eat Chicken unless it's Free range.
I just wish that things could be done more humanely. After what i have been researching lately i have been strongly considering going completely Vegitarian & i certainly wont be wearing leather & such.

It really disgusts me when i see Celebrities parading about on TV in Fur coats and things... To me there is nothing fashionable or great about wearing a dead Fox or any other animal... I just think these people are ignorant & it disgusts me. I Don't think it would go down as well if a Mink was to tear a slice out of J.Lo's A** for the sake of it lol...

The saddest part of it all is that the solution is simple as far as these Animal factories are concerened...

If everyone stopped buying clothes with Fur or Fur trim, leather, snake skin and everything else there wouldnt be a business in it and therefore these Animals exploited for pointless fashion would be left alone to live a normal happy & free life as they should.

No Animal should be Caged up & treated so disgracefully... It's that simple!!

but yea that sounds bad throwing chickens in hot water..i was thinking of lobsters when you said that. i always wanted to save the lobsters at a Red Lobster restaurant. they have lobsters out front alive ..i call them the death row lobsters..with rubber bands on their claws:(

yea its hard to be a vegatarian for me as well. and most ethnic foods have so much meat in them..makes it harder. if they stop killing these animals in extreme ways!

i mean they execute serial killers more humanily than animals. they make them fall asleep then they put posion into them.. wow okay. cant feel a thing from what i hear.

as long as we do a small part to help animals thats all we can hope for i guess.:)

But people seem to care less about animals that are used for food. If people were willing to pay more for their meat, less of this cruelty would happen I think. We have become strangers to how the products that we buy are made, both when it comes to food, clothes and other products- and that I think is the major problem.
People are happy to buy inexpensive clothes, and does not bother to think about who made them. And we buy food, and don`t care about how it was made. If we knew, maybe we would react differently?

I agree with you which is why I always had way more respect and love for animals than I do for people. Ever since I had gotten the game show network back. I have been watching this old game show from the 70s called Let's Make A Deal. And it makes me absolutely sick and disgusted whenever I see them giving away a fur coat on the show. I just can't believe how it was back then when people thought wearing fur was the greatest thing. It was like people didn't care about animals at all back then. I also agree about the lobsters which is why there is only 2 kinds of seafood I will eat which is fish and shrimp. Plus I didn't know that about KFC chicken maybe I am glad we no longer have a KFC in my town.

Animal cruelty is a big problem. Many countries don't even have a basic laws to protect the rights of aminals.

Thanks Secret Man It's terrible what is going on and i wish more people would take it more seriously.
I was hoping MJJC would support me by stickying this thread but they had their reasons why they wouldn't which is fair enough. I just wish their was more that we could do to prevent this cruelty from happening.

What is the McCruelty action all about? im gonna look online and find out more.

@MJsbollywoodgirl, i feel exactly the same as u, i love animals and nature so much, it hurts that people have such disreguard for their feelings. Animals feel just as we do... the only difference is that they cannot speak out about how they feel, alot of people are so ignorant to the fact they feel just as much physical and emotional pain as we do.

We wouldnt treat a human being in this way so why do people feel its ok to treat animals like this?
I really can't stand how ignorant these people are to put animals through this kind of torture.

An Animal's life is just as precious as a human's in my opinion.

Years ago PETA made an action against methods of killing animals in McDonald's fast foods. They were very brutal, PETA posted many pictures and some videos. McDonald's promised to change the methods so PETA stopped the action against them.

Unfortunately they lied which was discovered again so PETA decided to continue the "McCruelty" action.

OMG!! i just watched that video on there. It's so wrong, it makes me sick to my stoamch how this is allowed to happen. It's really upsetting and there is no need for it.

It's really frustrating knowing this is happening but not having the power to stop it right now. I wish the government were interested in more than just Financial gain, as they are the ones that can really do something about this... If only they would ban these outragous and barbarric methods of killing.

It should be completely illegal to treat animals in this way.
 
That is so sad about that poor dog. I agree about humans doing more harm. Which is why I am so against hunting and poaching. The way I see it the only way an animal should be killed by a human is if that person's life is in endangered. Or if the animal has rabies other than that there is just no reason at all for a human killing an animal of any kind.
 
McDonald's is not the only crappy fast food worth to boycott. KFC is another one. Unlike McDonalds, the KFC chain doesn't even pretend to care about animals. They cut chicken's beak to cause their slow starvation, break their legs to make more space and they feed those who survived with drugs to make them as big as they cannot even walk.

The video and pictures posted on that website are very cruel, but true.
