Children In Need 2011

It is that time of year again in which the BBC has it's annual appeal for Children In Need The UK members will all know who Pudsey Bear is:

This years appeal in on Friday 19th November and the BBC will be showing special programs about the projects undertaken and contributed to by the charity leading up to the special appeal evenin dedicated to the fundraising efforts with special celebrity guests.

You can get lots of tips and ideas on how to get involved, including how to organise an activity in your local area or there is plenty of fun stuff going on for you to take part in so there's something for everyone.

The appeal from 2010 raised over £40million!!! :bounce:

TV presenter Matt Baker is currently riding a Rickshaw from Edinburgh in Scotland all the way to London for Children In Need.

The total journey of 484 miles started on the Castle Esplanade in Edinburgh and will culminate in London during the The One Show's BBC Children in Need live special on the night of the Appeal, Friday 18 November. He will be cycling up to ten hours a day and burning a daily total of up to 9000 calories.

What happens to the money?Are there several charities who help children who gets the money or what?

In Sweden we now and then have fundraising through Radio help.Nowadays they do campaigns for fundraising on tv too but Radio help was here before tv came.
We have recently had fundraising for children of the world , you give to one number but there are 12 charities sharing the money.
Charities are examined by the Swedish collection control and they have to report what has been done with the money afterwards
