So I know being fans of Michael Jackson, its gonna be hard to take any other child singer seriously, but Billy Gilman was up there with Michael, in terms of adolecent vocals. I wouldn't put him on Michael's level as an adult, but as children, they're both pretty close. If you recall, he sang "Ben" at Michael's 30th anniversary concert. Billy has what I would call a world class voice. He can still sing just as well, his voice has changed, but it's just as good. But here's a video of him singing the song "One Voice" off of his debut album from 2000 and singing a Christmas song called "Warm and Fuzzy". I think he was 11 years old. He is an amazing singer.

Now I always say the way you can tell whether someone has real talent or not is if they display it at a young age. Clearly, Billy has a huge talent as a vocalist. If you look up videos of people like Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears at this age, you see how basically lame they are and how little natural talent they actually possess, it's more like a practiced feel. As though they had been singing for a few years at that point, starting with basically nothing or close to nothing in talent. Billy Gilman sounds like a complete professional and his control is, as my dad put it, freaky.
Here he is as a young adult, still a teenager actually. He's still just as good.
