I got looking on ebay for homes for sale. I can't even remember how it came about. I don't watch TV so I am unaware if there are rampant scams on ebay with selling homes or not. Has anyone had experience with this or know of anyone who has or heard of any stories to do with someone purchasing real estate online? I am very interested to learn more about this.
Here is an example:

i'd want to see the property ahead of purchase regardless the venue its being sold from. maybe message the buyer and request a showing. i'd also request name of the person with title to the house and cross check it with a driver's license or something beforehand to make sure someone is selling you something they legally have the right to sell. and cross check it with public records. i think you can check public records online.

you mean agents? selling a property on ebay is to take the middle person out so that two parties can sell/buy property at a greatly reduced price and without the expense of a realtor. im not sure that is what you mean? but yeah, properties are legitimately sold and bought via ebay, but i'd still be leary of scammers, they exist everywhere. check also the person's i think they're rating. its like how many times they've been involved in ebay transactions as buyers and sellers and check their buyers comments to see what other's who've purchased from this ebay seller before have to say about their transactions. you can also message past buyers if the seller did not make them anon, and ask them about their past transaction. goodluck :) be cool to get a great deal on a home at this time :flowers:

I'd imagine it is a bit of a gamble. Probably cheaper than going to Vegas... Thanks for all your input.
