Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

What happened? I thought they could not find a publisher, because they wanted them to write a bunch of dirt and they did not want to do that?

Ash i think those were the guys who had Michael's financial papers with them on the tv when they were discussing their book. They said money was coming in but they were not being paid. I wonder who decided to publish their book. they were trying to publish before Frank and Frank got a publisher and they could not. This tells me they broke down and added the dirt the publisher wanted. We have those huge threads about them answering questions when they began writing the book.

Yes! BUT.... Financial papers? :bugeyed It is much easier for me to believe that the Tooth Fairy exists than to believe what these guys are going to say. -_-

Believe me, they will tell a lot of stories about unpaid wages and on the finances of Michael and bla bla bla. This book will sell a lot. Many fans will be curious and will buy! :fear: And I'll be here just watching the unfolding of the whole thing..... :horror :coffee:

Are there two versions ?

http://www.amazon.com/Defending-Mic...79095221&sr=1-2-spell&keywords=bill+withfield

Hardcover – International Edition, June 3, 2014

Defending Michael Jackson is the book the late superstar's fans have been waiting for: a compassionate look at the real life of the world's biggest, most controversial celebrity, as told by the two bodyguards who were with him constantly in his final two-and-a-half years.

When he met the plane of a "high-profile dignitary" at the Las Vegas airport, Bill Whitfield figured he'd be escorting just another in a career's worth of rich and famous to a local destination, safe and sound. Job done.

Not this time. In their intensely personal account, Whitfield and partner Javon "BJ" Beard tell the story of a Michael Jackson that the public has never known, a father with his children isolated by celebrity and increasingly abandoned by friends, staff and family--a man they grew to know very well, because after that first drive from the airport, they slowly went from providing just security to serving as personal assistants, professional gatekeepers and, ultimately, trusted confidants.

Whitfield, Beard and New York Times bestselling author Tanner Colby tell the story behind the celebrity: of a great humorist, history buff, doting father and caring friend they called "Mr. Jackson."

Hardcover: 352 pages -Publisher: Random House Canada (June 3, 2014)

the other version is Hardcover: 320 pages - Publisher: Weinstein Books (June 3, 2014)

From Mike Garcia's Facebook (former MJ bodyguard):

The two other bodyguards i worked with for Michael Jackson are coming out with a book in conjunction with those that never had Mr Jackson's best interest and stole from him. In the past years, I've been asked about the other two bodyguards and always remained silent.

Now i can no longer do that.

They made a deal with a book author behind my back which the book author had to end the deal with them because of the fiction they wanted in the book, they are using my image for their book sale and its not "MJs Bodyguards" writing this book, its the greed of just them two, and they care of only money. This is the second attempt at writing a book with my image and I'm not even involved.

For the record, I am NOT involved in their book and I'm in disbelief that they have sided with the ones who took advantage of Mr Jackson. Just when i thought these two couldn't disrespect Mr Jackson even more, they do it again. Sad and the karma, in the name of Mr Jackson will come to you both.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

just in defense of those who write books about Michael.. We can give them crap for writting about the personal life that we say should remain private.. But isn't it us who dig and dig into his business and know so much about him?

I mean I will admit myself I know much more about him than I need to know or should know considering I did not know him personally!!

As far the the mentioning of "financial Crises" we don't know what they are going to say.. You know how many times I've read a headline and it was nothing like I expected..

I could litterally start the chapter. "Much talk has been said about Michael Jackson and his Financial Crises, but the fact of the matter is, there wasn't one. While he wasn't making the money he once did and he did worry for a while, he still was able to afford to live the life he wanted."

Something like that, we have nooo idea what they'll say...

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

I for one am for MJ books, as long as they are done with love. I love finding out more about Michael. Michael was the same way, he studied, and read, and found out all he could about any particular subject or person he was interested in.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

But isn't it us who dig and dig into his business and know so much about him?

The press did that throughout the life of Michael. One part of the fans dissect every piece of private life of Michael and the other party does not care about what happened or did not happen in the private life of Michael. And really who cares about what Michael did or did not do in private life? Leave quiet. There is none of our business. :nono: But I know that many love to know. And this book will come with a lot of stories.

I have full consciousness that this never will stop. Always will appear another person writing books with stories of Michael's private life ....

I wonder why these people did not write their books when Michael was still here. (?) If Michael wanted the world to know about every step he took in his private life, he himself would have written a book about it to satisfy people's curiosity.

I know he will NEVER have peace. This is how it will be going forward. Accept and move on. *big sigh *
I'm more interested in know and dissect about the artist and his art. :coffee: :fear:

Ash I remember that message from before. Has there been any new information from Garcia? It seems they are using a bestseller author named Colby. Is Colby being used to help do the writing since he has experience?

Mike said nothing more on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MikeGarcia808). But when this book comes out will be crazy and for sure that it will break the silence. It is very sad and disappointing to see the name of Michael in this mess. I do not understand why these people are not able to keep his mouth shut. Keeping quiet is impossible for these people. Or not.... Because > $ $ $ $ $ $ :fear:

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

seriously this is :puke: anyone who wants to read about the last shocking days  this is pure sensation okay

I'm NOT gonna buy such a book cause I think its disrespectful towards Michael.

Indeed, using the US word is quite :cheeky: I don't care about Michael's 'private' life! We all have one, okay.

I care about his art, wisdom, inspiration, how he survived all this turmoil, his courage, his love

If anyone has a right to write 'truthfully' about Michael it would be Wayne Nagin :D but I'm sure he's a gentleman!

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

I believe the "us" is taken from something I said.. and the term "us" I use as a fan base.. I use this term purposly to include myself even IF it does not specifically include me. That way no one should feel like I am pointing the finger at them.

If you as an individual do not want to read/buy something that does not speak fully for the fan base. These books are sold because they believe WE (MJ fans) will buy them. a verrry small percentage of people outside th fan community will actually buy this. a great majority will be MJ fans.

If we like it or not, we are looked at as a group of people when it comes to a fan base. when they are doing sale polls, and when they try to figure out what will sell, they are not thinking of each of us individually they are thinking about US. And that works positive and negitive!

When most speak up against something, it can be heard.. and when a few "crazy" MJ fans do something embarrasing it is a visual on US all..

I simply didnt want to say "you guys who want to buy" because we are a single group of fans.. individually unique but still a group of people.

I fully respect those who wont read/buy the book, I understand in 100%.. and if you're one not to read it, you can exclude yourself out of the "us" in this setting because youre not one to buy it.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

I was thinking of writing a wild, crazy, hot, X-rated, love story about me and some super star. I mean, since a lot of these books have made up stuff in it, I may as well write a hot fiction. Maybe I will write it about Michael. I could use a title like these:

1) Michael Jackson: Above & Below and Round & Round

2) MJ S-- In the Closet causing Blood on The Dance Floor: A Thriller Beast

3) Michael Jackson: S-- that wont Stop Until You Have Enough

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

I don't understand why there is so much hate for this book?
I personally love to learn more about Michael. I don't see how this is a bad thing?
Personally i hope Kenny Ortega writes a book about MJ one day, with stories about preparing for tours, phone conversations, and creative meetings..
I also think it would be great if Michael's kids one day wrote a book about what an amazing dad he was.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

I think a book by Kenny O would be awesome.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

If a bodyguard would write a book that would be most interesting to me it would be Alberto.. I don't think he would though, he never sensationalized the fact he worked for Michael.. Even in the 911 call, he made sure not to mention its Michael.

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

oh my, that sure made me LOL! great titles, now THIS I'd BUY

Re: Another book -the Bodyguards...

OK so these guys finally was able to put this book out. What happened to the third guy?
