What do you think is the message behind the song? Or is there a message?
Is it meant like: "Beat it = fight, don't let them beat you"
or "Beat it = leave this place, don't get into the fight"
I started thinking about this when my mom heard the song and she missherd the lyrics and asked me what does he sing and I said he says "beat it" and she was like what does it mean. And I said that it can have a double meaning. So what do you think?
English isn't my native language so I'm sometimes puzzled with some lyrics.

I think it means that the best way to settle a confrontation is to walk away from it.
If it looks like it could turn violent then 'beat it' and don't get involved physically.
 
It's actually an anti-violence song, which is ironic since it's synonymous with confrontations.
 
the song means is that don't mess with yourself and other people around you so that's why? he say BEAT IT i told that too my brother in law :yes:
