An autopsy report obtained by The Associated Press shows Michael Jackson was not the sickly skeleton of a man portrayed by tabloids.
Here are some of the findings from the Los Angeles County coroner's autopsy of Michael Jackson:
*He was 5-foot-9 and weighed 136 pounds which is an acceptable range for his height.
*There were dark tattoos on his eyebrows and around his eyes, a pink tattoo around his lips and what appeared to be a dark tattoo on the front of his scalp.
*Jackson had multiple scars on his body, including behind his ears, beside each of his nostrils, along one shoulder, at the base of his neck and near his navel. Scars were likely to have been caused by cosmetic surgery, while others, including on the knee, were likely to have been created by medical procedures.
*He was balding and suffered from a skin disease that reduced pigment and left patches of white skin around his face, chest, abdomen and arms.
*His remaining hair was described as short and tightly-curled.
*Osteoarthritis was visible in the lower spine and some fingers.
*His heart and kidneys were strong.
*Most serious health problem was his chronically inflamed lungs, but this was not serious enough to be a contributing factor to his death but could have left him short of breath.
*Most other major organs appeared normal.
*The anesthetic Propofol, four other sedatives, the pain killer Lidocaine and a resuscitative drug were found in Jackson's system. His stomach had no discernible pills.
*No illegal drugs or alcohol were detected.
*The manner of death was ruled a homicide based, in part, on the Propofol being administered in a non-hospital setting without any appropriate medical need.
*Consistent with CPR attempts, Jackson had a bruised chest and his sternum and several ribs were fractured.
*The post mortem did not uncover any physical problems that may have limited Jackson's ability to perform.
"His overall health was fine," said Dr Zeev Kain of the University of California, who reviewed the report for AP but was not involved in the post-mortem examination.
"The results are in normal limits," he added.
The full autopsy report has yet to be officially released to the public, but the conclusion that Jackson's death was homicide has been disclosed.
