Amy Winehouse dropped by Quincy Jones for his all-star tribute album
The car crash that is Amy Winehouse's life has had another prang.
Days after cancelling next Sunday's Island records gig in London, she has been dropped from a huge tribute bash for music legend Quincy Jones.
We hear Quincy - the mastermind behind Michael Jackson's biggest albums - was fuming after Amy snubbed his offer to record for him.
The pair met at the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday concert in Hyde Park last summer, and Quincy was very taken with Amy - despite her ropy performance.
He generously invited her and Mark Ronson to join a string of A-list performers to record a song for an album tribute to himself.
Amy agreed, but after waiting for almost a year to hear some material, Quincy has lost faith in her and been forced to drop the track.
And even her pal Mark Ronson is getting fed up. He told us: "The track isn't finished and she's not around. If she's not here then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it."
Quincy had even been hoping Amy would have performed with Michael Jackson at a launch for the CD.
But all that has been scrapped as Amy continues to booze it up in St Lucia. A source said: "Basically after Amy's horrendous gig in St Lucia, and then pulling out of the Island 50th birthday gig, everyone realised she wasn't going to get it together.
"Quincy Jones is one of the most respected men in the music industry, so it was a huge honour for Amy to be asked to record for him. To snub him is a big no-no.
"The frustrating thing is what there is of the track sounds really good, but it looks like no one will ever get to hear it.
"Mark tried everything to get her back in the studio to finish it, but he's given up and everyone else is starting to too.
"Now she's over in St Lucia she has hit the bottle and no one can get her to commit to anything.
"She has almost 18 half-recorded tracks, but just won't knuckle down to finish any of them off. Short of locking her in the recording studio there is nothing any one can do.
"She is going to live to regret missing out on all the chances she's been given."
