Africa
More than two-thirds (68 percent) of all people living with HIV, 22.5 million, live in Sub-Saharan Africa—including 90 percent of the world’s HIV-positive children. In 2007, an estimated 1.7 million people in the region became newly infected. An estimated 1.6 million adults and children died of AIDS.
Asia
In Asia, 432,000 people became newly infected in 2007, bringing the total number of people living with HIV/AIDS there to 4.8 million. AIDS claimed approximately 302,000 lives in Asia in 2007.
Caribbean
An estimated 17,000 people became infected with HIV in 2007 in the Caribbean, bringing the total number of people living with HIV/AIDS to 230,000. An estimated 11,000 people died of AIDS in 2007.
Latin America
HIV/AIDS in this region overall remained stable, with new infections totaling about 100,000, and 58,000 people dying of AIDS in 2007. Latin America currently has 1.6 million living with HIV/AIDS.
The Middle East and North Africa
Approximately 380,000 people are living with HIV in this region, and an estimated 35,000 people became newly infected in 2007. An estimated 25,000 adults and children in 2007 died of AIDS.
Eastern Europe and Central Asia
Some 150,000 people were newly infected with HIV in 2007, bringing the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in 2007 to 1.6 million. HIV/AIDS claimed 55,000 lives in 2007.
Western and Central Europe
In these regions, the total number of people living with HIV continues to increase, in great part due to the life-prolonging effect of antiretroviral therapy and an increase in the number of new HIV diagnoses in Western Europe since 2002. In 2007, there were 31,000 new cases of HIV, bringing the number of people living with HIV in Western and Central Europe in 2007 to 760,000. An estimated 12,000 people in these regions died of AIDS in 2007. Source: UNAIDS, AIDS Epidemic Update, December 2007

My God!...had no idea that HIV/AIDS was still increasing like that.
Mechi,do you work with people that have this illness?how you do help a person with HIV/AIDS?

This is why I think no-one should have sex without a condom. The government should allow couples to have free IVF treatment if they are trying for a child.
