17-7-2010) There was a different kind of joy at the PK Park baseball field in Eugene Oregon. The home team lost, but the players and their fans threw in their gloves attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the most people doing the moonwalk.
Michael Jackson Night, a promotion led by Emerald's Team Director of Ticket Operations Koo Yul Kim (known as Mi-Koo Jackson for the evenings festivities) included players and fans joining on the warning track for a moonwalk around the park. An unofficial count of 689 people was tallied.
The team's front office management has to gather all the media footage and official statements in order to submit to the Guinness World Records office in London where the decision will be made if the Emeralds have set the new record for most people doing the moonwalk.
After the event, the post-game fireworks display was accompanied by some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits.
