you know when a Artist jumps the Shark and works with someone or does a type of song or something that is totally out of character for them. which artist or act comes to mind to you who you felt like truly jumped the shark and why?

Paul McCartney has made some dance and hip-hopish songs under the name The Fireman. Also that classical stuff he did is different than his usual material. Prince made a whole album about the Jehovah Witnesses. Although these aren't bad. Now B.B. King making a song with Heavy D was kinda weird. MJ cursing in a song was kinda odd for him. I remember Quincy Jones saying that Michael was really prudish when he was younger.

David Lee Roth singing on some bluegrass songs.
Billy Idol & Bootsy Collins making Christmas albums.
Dolly Parton singing Stairway To Heaven.
James Brown working with Dan Hartman and Full Force.
Morris Day singing Somebody's Watching Me.
Boy George recording New Jack Swing.
Pat Boone covering Heavy Metal songs.
Metallica performing Prince's "Sister".
Sting making an album of old Celtic music.
Elton John & Millie Jackson duet
Mary J. Blige & U2
Eurythmics & Charlie Wilson

Slash releasing a smooth jazz song called "Obsession Confession"

Lionel Richie recording with Akon
Ronald Isley performing with ANY hip-hop act (the Mr. Biggs schtick is beyond tired), lol
Every R&B/hip-hop/pop act using autotune (w/o being totally creative)
Janet produced by Jermaine Dupri
Janet, Ciara and Madonna teaming up with Justin Timberlake on anything, lol
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown!

Is this just sort of discussing oddities? Because even though some artists have done some odd things, I wouldn't say some of these artists have jumped the shark.

Many would say Stevie Wonder's Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants was the beginning of the end of his genius work.

Some would say MJ's best work was his J5 stuff through Thriller. Most would be casual fans and not really diehards. I'd disagree with both of those, naturally.

Some think Eminem peaked with his first album, or the Marshall Mathers LP (I disagree with that too).

TP-2.com was R. Kelly's turning point for me, after an incredible seven years of solid music. He's done stuff I like, but nothing as consistent as his first three or four albums and production work.

each thread can switch places. one man's treasure..lol

Nelly and Tim McGraw - Over and Over Again. But I love that song, so whateva.

Jermaine Jackson & Pia Zadora
This isn't music per se, but there was a picture of Axl Rose, the Pet Shop Boys, & Young MC together. I think it was backstage at a PSB concert. I thought the picture was kinda funny, as I didn't figure they would be hanging out together, lol.

Diana Ross and Adam Ant performing on "Motown 25", not bad but a very unlikely duet.

Seriously did that really happen . I really couldn't imagine them performing on stage together at all.

I'd say Diana & Mary Wilson performing together was more unlikely, lol. Diana did used to date "The Demon" Gene Simmons, so Adam isn't that much of a stretch, lol.

Yeah that really happened.

Adam was singing "Where Did Our Love Go" and Diana came on the stage (to the astonishment of everybody) and sung with him, I think she flirted with him or something, lol. She was a little playful with Adam, who was enjoying it obviously.

Lol, it just sounds so funny because you wouldn't expect it in a million years .

I hear Anita Baker is currently recording a song with Snoop Dogg. :p

If this Janet and Gaga collab goes ahead, then...

Adam and Diana? :bugeyed wow! i can't believe they shared the same air
