Michael Jackson's Billie Jean is definitely a song that is recognizable by many people from many backgrounds but the slew of remakes have gotten kinda crazy. David Cook's performance of the song on American Idol was good but not that dissimilar from Chris Cornell's version. But this version is like taking the song..mixing with bleach, a kalediscope and some of your favorite addiction.

Don't miss the dude 'breaking it down' towards the end.

...Credited as the man that taught Michael Jackson the Moonwalk he will also be showing off those street dance moves that have hypnotised UK audiences and inspired artistes such as Usher, Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown...

I always think that it's quite possible that more than one person "taught" MJ the moonwalk in the sense that they showed him how they did it and then he took the best from each to make the move his own. That just seems like how he would do it. Study the best and then perfect their moves further.

Michael is witnessed to have the rarest ability to grasp even rather complex dance routines in just one glance. So it is ridiculous to think that he would need anyone (let alone all three claimants to be Moonwalk-teachers) to "show him how to do it".

As far as of now, there are four acts who claim to "teach" Jackson something, though neither story was ever confirmed.

It is also ridiculous that media all of sudden name Daniels as "credited as the man who taught" even though no one but Daniels credited himself to do that.

Other three acts credit themselves for that, not Daniels.

By the way, whole idea of Michael asking anyone to "teach" him anything -- when he himself was in dance long before "teachers" and was engaged with break-dance-type choreography years before all those claimants -- is rather questionable.

(Of course, it is not related to cases when Jackson hires choreographers for additional choreography for scene shows and videos; but Daniels and others were never part of whatever choreography creation in those times. Still, even in those cases Michael looks for dance sequences, not to be taught particular movements.)

And, Moonwalk as dance has nothing specifically to do with Daniels since it appeared as far as back in early XX Century and visually documented since 1950s.

Regular disclaimer, though: this is not to say that Daniels and other claimants are bad or non-important, nor it is to say that Jackson "invented" Moonwalk (himself never said so).

However, talking about Moonwalk as phenomenon in worldwide dance and culture history, it is definitely Jackson who created it; not Daniels or whoever else.

why are ppl so touchy about who taught mj the moonwalk. who cares. fact is mj didnt create it its been around for years and he saw others do it and asked them to teach him it ala casper jeff etc. those ppl have never claimed to created it but they were performing it on mainstream shows back in the 70s and bought it to ppls attention more.

There is no records of any "mainstream show" with Moonwalk before 1982, and that one was aired in UK and never in USA. And that Daniels performance was so unremarkable that "Top Of Pops" show (where he appeared) history page even does not list his performance for that year. Almost no one actually knew about Moonwalk before Jackson even among dancers, nothing mainstream.

And yes, Daniels credited himself for Moonwalk and even once was very confused when on one show they broadcasted TX Bailey from 1950s. The whole story about "teaching" Jackson Moonwalk could appear from possibility that Daniels could be sincerely ignorant thinking that he was only one who danced moonwalk, while there were other people in his time and others long before him.
