I think that, especially considering recent events, 2009 is the year of the skeptic. We won, you lost, get a life. Skepticism about global warming, skepticism about government, skepticism in general became very big this year. But it's to be expected. When things fall apart as much as they did this year, people are going to become skeptical of conventional wisdom. When promises of what big government can give you aren't fulfilled, people become skeptical of the very institution of government. When thousands of emails are leaked showing doubt among the scientific community about the evidence of global warming, people start to be skeptical of everything from the solution proposed to stop or reverse climate change to even the existence of global warming. This makes me very happy. It has been a good year for skepticism.
