That's a technicality. When you have mergers and acquisitions, they go with you. AT&T bought it all.

UPDATE: The Estate of Michael Jackson v. HBO: The Estate will appear in court on 5/13/19 (13 may 2019).
They have filed a motion to remand the case back to the state court.

The Estate is still asking for open arbitration. The arbitration clause in the contract between HBO and Michael Jackson specifically states that if an arbitration occurs, it should be heard in LA Superior Court.

Update: The Estate of Michael Jackson has filed a motion to compel arbitration with HBO in District court. This filing has been done in case the District court does not remand the case back to the state court. Basically, it covers both bases in trying to compel arbitration.

Update: HBO has filed a stipulation to extend the court date to May 23, rather than May 13. HBO claims a "scheduling conflict" and that the paperwork would be due on the Monday after Easter. The Estate has agreed to a 5/23 court date for motion to compel arbitration.

Yeah, I don't buy it either!!!

HBO is a huge organization with multiple attorneys on retainer, surely one or more of them could have handled this without requesting an extension.

See, once again, look at the lies. One lie to keep up with old lies. They can send someone as companies do. I can not see the Estate losing this case.

Yeah, they've done it a few times now. Definitely just trying to buy time for whatever reason. Probably to make as much money off of it as possible.
 
Isn't there suppose to be a court hearing?

Or has Michael estate declined it?

Everybody need to pray for Michael today and tomorrow. there's suppose to be a court hearing. let's hope it all goes well.
 
I hope this is decided in the MJ Estate's favour but I honestly have no idea whether it will be.
If I understand correctly there may be no precedent for the validity an anti-defamation clause persisting after death.

Sadly I think this was the only viable option for the MJ Estate so I'm glad they actioned it, even if it was just to generate headlines against Leaving Neverland with no real chance of success.

I'm waiting....

People saying it is MJ estate. i don't know did it start yet. hasn't it been started?
 
Documents show that it supposed to happen today but not on the schedule. It is only 8:20am in California right now and the first proceedings generally begin at 8:30am.

Not saying this would be the first case of the day, but we know it's too early for it to have started if indeed happening today.

Can anyone confirm or deny that there is a possibility of both MJ estate and HBO may not need to show up to court tommorow?

I still have not seen the schedual updated with info and I saw someone state that.
