Michael Jackson Scream - The Album

Okay, so three thoughts:

1) A new album titled Scream? Is there a second song titled Scream that we don't know about? Is it a solo version? Why would they call it Scream? Seems weird to me.
2) Real or not, that's an awesome design.
3) I know fans go above and beyond, but that is a LOT of work for someone to put together for a hoax/prank.

I don't know what to think. Help me, Jesus.

EDIT: Word has it there's a similar design somewhere in Australia. Will return with details.

The Xscape project was launched in a similar fashion..

Also 'Scream' perhaps because it's a Halloween tie in to the TV special?

I've been saying for years that there should be an MJ Halloween album.

If so, what songs do you reckon could be put on it?

This is hopeful! I love the cover art!! Also, did anyone notice that all the uploads of the Ghosts short full (the full version) is deleted on YouTube by SME (Sony Music Entertainment)?

Really? I hope that means they will include it in the home released of Thriller 3D.

It looks fake but I could be wrong. It's common people make fake posters or fan art.

Kinda off topic but it reminded me of the Beetlejuice 2 fan art posters. Winona said there have been discussions in regards to the sequel but didn't confirm there would be second part. People were freaking out over these posters either way.

but you can clearly read "AlexMurilloArt" at the bottom. This MJ poster, from what I see, has a Legacy, Epic and MJJ Prod. logo which could mean this is legit. Obviously it could be a fake too, but that gives me hopes lol.

I love the image on the poster, but the lettering is all over the place. The lettering doesn't look 'right' for an official release to me.

Isn't 3 weeks rather a short time for an announcement and publicity build-up? There is no 'year' in the date :)

All I know is for whatever reason, when I see new art for an MJ product like this. It excites me! i'll try not to put my hopes into this just in case

Given the New Zealand event page, I'm gonna go ahead and assume this is real. Now to speculate...

What has me stumped is that the project is titled Scream and is referred to as a "new album". With projects like Immortal or the Ultimate Fan Extras Collection, the Estate put an emphasis on "collection" and never indicated otherwise. So I'm taking that to mean that this will include at least a couple new songs.

But on the other hand, Scream is a twenty-two year old song. Why would it be the name of the new album?

I'm thinking either (a) there's a second Scream we don't know about, (b) they're releasing the solo version that we've had for God knows how many years, or (c) it's a History-type deal, greatest hits mixed with new tunes.

Someone on the Archives pointed out that perhaps the Estate is trying to go out with a bang and make 2017 the year of Michael Jackson. And that does make some sense -- a new album, Thriller 3D premiering at film festivals, and a CBS Halloween special, all coinciding with the official end of the Sony contract.

I'm incredibly excited to see what comes next.

D'Angelo, Drake, U2, Beyonce and Rihanna surprise released albums without any build-up whatsoever. Jay-Z's last two albums were announced three weeks before they hit shelves. Maybe they're taking some cues from them?

Also, 'Scream' is not a 'Halloween' type of song. On the other hand, it would be a great song to end the court cases brought by Wade and Jimmy :)

Well considering they don't show MJs real face on the cover I would guess it could be real. The estate doesn't like to use his face. Smh. Now I'm just being sassy lol

It's one of the two new projects being released "in the next couple of weeks".
