"I respect the secrets and magic of nature. That's why it makes me so angry when I see these things that are happening, that every second, I hear, the size of a football field is torn down in the Amazon. I mean, that kind of stuff really bothers me. That's why I write these kinds of songs, you know. It gives some sense of awareness and awakening and hope to people. I love the Planet, I love the trees. I have this thing for trees - the colors and changing of leaves. I love it. I respect those kind of things. I really feel that nature is trying so hard to compensate for man's mismanagement of the planet. Because the planet is sick, like a fever. If we don't fix it now, it's at the point of no return. This is our last chance to fix this problem that we have, where it's like a runway train. And the times has come, This Is It. People are always saying,'They'll take care of it. The government'll--Don't worry, they'll--' 'They' who? It starts with us. It's us. Or else it'll never be done... We have four years to get it right. After that it would be irreversible. Let's take care of the planet."
On the environment ( from "Michael Jackson's This Is It" )

The Giving Tree, first published in 1964 by Harper and Row, is a children’s book written and illustrated by Shel Silverstein. This book has become one of Silverstein’s best known titles and has been translated into more than 30 languages.

The Giving Tree is a tale about a relationship between a young boy and a tree. The tree always provides the boy with what he wants: branches on which to swing, shade in which to sit, and apples to eat. As the boy grows older he requires more and more of the tree. The tree loves the boy very much and gives him anything he asks for. In the ultimate act of self-sacrifice, the tree lets the boy cut it down so the boy can build a boat in which he can sail. The boy leaves the tree, now a stump. Many years later, the boy, now an old man, returns and the tree sadly says, “I’m sorry, boy…but I have nothing left to give you.” But the boy replies, “I do not need much now, just a quiet place to sit and rest.” The tree then says, “Well, an old tree stump is a good place for sitting and resting. Come boy, sit down and rest.” The boy obliges and the tree was very happy.

Thank you for posting all these beautiful pictures. I'd like to add one 'quirky' one:
The 'Elfin Oak or ('Fairy tree') in Kensington Gardens childrens area, London. Sadly this has to be protected by an ironwork 'cage' now..It is covered with carvings of animals, birds, and 'little people'. It is not far from the 'Peter Pan' statue.

Cool trees. I think Michael would have loved to climb the Banyan trees in Hawaii. They're fun to climb. :D I believe I've seen this tree in particular myself

Also this is a tree from a fictional movie, but I've always liked this tree, the Camphor tree from My Neighbor Totoro

This represents my apple trees and me,although I don´t have had cows in them yet.

My favoriteplace during summer is the shadow under an appletree-if we have a good summer.
I use to sit or lie and read there.
When I was young I loved to climb trees and hang upside down in my knees.
