"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Prince got me smiling

Recently I figured out one controversal fact about "Michael" film. According to some reliable sources, biopic is going to contain ALL Michael Jackson's life from his birth till the very end. And there is only one question appears in my head: HOW? How are they planning to do that, when there are so many obstacles... First of all, Jafaar Jackson is only 26 years old kid. Yep, he can play Michael from Jackson5, OTW and Thriller eras, but what about Invincible and This Is It eras? I know, they can use makeup, CGI, deepfake and other stuff, but will it be good enough? I really doubt about it. Young boy without big actor's experience can't show the pain and tiredness of 50 years old influencer. Let's be honest) The best option to solve this problem is to find another actor for mature Michael, with bigger acting skills. Second problem of this biopic is that they just can't show all Michael's life properly within 2 HOURS. Okay, even If film lasts about 3 hours, that's not enough too! Look, to show all Jackson5 aspects they need about 30-40 minutes, then they have to properly show Off The Wall and Thriller eras - about 1 hour, then we have Bad era +1 hour too. And you can see, that only 3 eras are already taking about 3 hours! Just imagine how much is going to take Dangerous (about 2 hours), History (about 1 hour), Invincible (about 5 hours) and This Is It (about 2 hours). That's impossible to show all Michael life within one film PROPERLY! They need at least a trilogy for that or full serial project! If they will just paste all his life into one film, this is going to be just a bad slideshow without proper smooth story... What do you think about it, btw? Maybe I'm wrong and Michael's bipoic is going to contain only first 2-3 eras?

they will simply skip important stuff in all eras..

It's a movie. If you're expecting it to be accurate then you're going to disappointed. These types of movies are generally not.
I'm expecting, they will create a proper biopic. but there are too many scenes, that they have to include! it's impossible!

Hopefully this thread can be merged with the one that is already open.

This movie is not for the hardcore fans, it's for the general public, I'd lower your expectations if you're expecting a full on cradle to the grave story with 100% accuracy covering each important moment in his life.

We would literally need a trilogy of films to cover everything.

Trilogy would be nice. But they have to show all important moments from Michael's life. I'm planning actually to make another thread about all scenes, that have to be included in Michael biopic

It's literally 6-7 threads down!

With Michael's family being on board and the age of Jaafar, I can see it being similar to The Jacksons American Dream and ending in the early 80's.
No controversies just unparalleled success

that will be stupid! they can't just skip important stuff. that's the point
Curious for your view/though, which parts of his life would you like to see and would be interesting to include in the movie, divided per era? Since it is a movie for the public and not a serious documentairy.

You know, I think it would be ideal to have two films, with the first one highlighting the off the wall, thriller and a bit of the bad era, but focus mainly on the success and a bit of personal struggles like his family, the feeling of isolation and the beginnings of vitiligo. If the film doesn't go any further than that it won't need to go into the allegations, it will just be a reminder for the public why he's the King of Pop while also embracing the human aspect of this man. After that, there should be another film going from Dangerous to This Is It. It could start with an emphasis on his career, while later going into the allegations (as well as his changing appearance), which should be the focus of this hypothetical Part II.
If the film goes beyond the early 90s it simply has to include the allegations, and while they are already at it, they might as well focus on it.
This way we can ensure to have enough time for certain aspects of his life, while concentrating on his rise to fame and artistry in the first film, and diving deeper into the darker parts in the second.
In a more film-theoretical sense we can say that the audience has to sympathise with our hero first before rooting for him

The Michael biopic just MUST to show us the next famous moments of his life:

1. Little Michael suddenly begins to dance, showing everybody that's his destiny to become a performer
2. J5 performance, when little Michael wore that purple hat
3. Michael being taken to strip clubs by his Dad
4. Michael being beaten by his dad (window accident would be enough)
5. Michael teenager abused because of his nose and puberty
6. OTW creation, some performances, first time he performed "Ankle Breaker"
7. First surgery, Michael started to be addicted to his nose appearance
8. Thriller creation, famous scene when Michael's car got crashed and he invented BJ melody

Pretty much spot on in my opinion! Looking at this 2,5 hours is going to be difficult😂. I think Prince is going to do a great job though.

Some honorable mentions:
1. Michael relation with the tabloid and the bullying in the press (racism, oxegen chamber, etc.).
2. Explanation of why Michael loved his children (from his childhood, peter pan syndrome).
3. Michaels humanitarian work, like including heal the world foundation, visiting hospitals and large donation. (world record)
4. Neverland ranch, the reason and purpose of neverland and busses with ill children.
5. Buying the catalogue
6. We are the world
7. Super bowl performace (creating the blueprint until this day)
8. Add Wade Robson in the '05 trial to descredit that Btch (thatd be funny)

I think some indepth of moments later in his life (26,27,28) wont really be included.

I would add these songs:
> Jackson 5 whos loving you on the Ed Sullivan Show
> Jackson 5 / the jacksons I want you back performance
> Billie Jean motown 25
> Smooth criminal Bad Tour
> History Tour Earth Songs
> Michael Jackson 2001 anniversary performance
> This is It (Man in the Mirror) > film ending

What songs would you add?

Imo... it should be a series with seasons like snowfall, power, the 100, & etc etc....hell an American dream itself was a 2-3part mini series let alone a 2hr movie. I can't help but to agree with the post above! I get so tired of all u ppl that speak on "THe geNeRAL pUBlic🤪" "THe geNeRAL pUBlic🤪" at this point who is the general public vs hard-core? We are just people who share love & want fairness to a man that helped changed all of our lives in 1 way or the other. We just want him documented right yet at the same time....who cares when we know everything already? Whats the point if the media TODAY IS STILL PROTRAYING HIM IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT ESPECIALLY WITH THIS WADE BS?! So to say that this biopic should be this or be that...who cares...I still will always love michael with everything in my body no matter what a biopic is or the media! I know the truth & hell even lifetime did a movie biopic with Navi who isn't even American even more so A BLACK MAN! & it wasn't no where near as bad as flex Alexander playing him. Every biopic today is trash imo. For the past few years it's the same recycled stuff. Look at biopics like whats love got to do with it or the temptations like...those are classics. The jacksons an american dream is a classic itself, have no idea why it stopped in 84 when so much happend after 84-92 So...idk...I just...(sigh)😮‍💨 I can go on & on but again (sigh😮‍💨) I have a headache 🤦🏿‍♂️

With the recent bad news (which was totally expected btw) this movie really is shaping up to become a mass event. I would even make the trailer as controversial as possible. Get those asses to the cinema!

Maybe if the Biopic is a succes, they are going to make a series if people are interested enough. I just hope the biopic is going to help people to know the REAL Michael Jackson like we know him, what the media is not showing you. If the biopic is done right, it can clear Michaels name on some aspects and create even more fans.

His current image, beside being the biggest entertainer of all time is not great with all the controversy created, it's about time people are going to know who the REAL Michael Jackson was and clear his name!

If the Biopic somewhat achieves that, than I dont care how long it is, then I am happy.
