December 22, 2010, (Sawf News) - Tomi Rae Brown, widow of soul singer James Brown, has denied press reports that her husband was a former patient of Michael Jackson's physician, Dr Conrad Murray.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sawfnews.com, Ms Brown dismissed tabloid speculation that her husband had used Dr Murray as a 'Dr Feelgood' and recommended him to Michael Jackson before he passed away.
Asked about the rumors, Ms Brown said, "Not true. Not true at all. That was not my husband's doctor and it had never been his doctor.

"James Brown had his own set of doctors that were based in Atlanta, Georgia. This gentleman lived in Las Vegas. So no, that was never his doctor."
She continued, "Michael Jackson was a close friend of the family. We would talk to him two or three times, maybe four times a year. Michael was such a good person. James had great respect for him.
"He loved Michael and Michael loved him. Michael talked to him like a father and he talked to Michael like a son.
"I was supposed to go to Michael's funeral but once I saw the gold casket and Reverend Sharpton it just brought back so many memories of my husband's funeral that I couldn't take it. It was too much, too many similarities. I decided not to go to the funeral and to remember Michael in my own way."
Charles Thomson's explosive new interview with Tomi Rae Brown – the most in-depth interview she has ever given – will be published during the holiday perio

I always had a feeling that was just a rumor. Just like the rumor that Joe knew Dr Murray from Las Vegas. Joe always denied that.

aint this really old news. it was denied ages ago or the claim back then was that his ex who died having surgery was a paitent of murrays

The anesthsiologist that they say Michael had with him on the history tour, is there documented proof of that?

Neil Ratner's work history with Michael is documented (see below for a court transcript from 2000) but he never mentioned any drugs or his treatments of Michael. I believe at most (in the latest CNN Andersoon Cooper interview) he said that Michael had sleep problems but didn't answer anything more.

2000 court hearing when Ratner was on trial for insurance fraud

http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/news/2000/02/09/2000-02-09_crocked_doc_won_t_say_if_he_.html

An upper East Side doctor who shot himself up with morphine while treating patients said yesterday that he was pop star Michael Jackson's tour doctor in 1997.

Dr. Neil Ratner, testifying yesterday in the insurance fraud trial of high-profile infertility expert Dr. Niels Lauersen, was evasive when asked if he had administered drugs to the Gloved One.

"Would you give Michael Jackson drugs?" Lauersen's demanded attorney, Theodore Wells.
"I'm not going to discuss a patient's personal medical condition," Ratner replied.
In a telephone interview from Los Angeles, Jackson's attorney, Brian Wolf, said the singer "denies that Dr. Ratner ever prescribed any inappropriate medications or treatments."
Wolf insisted that any medical treatment is confidential and said Ratner was correct not to disclose it.

Ratner, who graduated from a medical school in Mexico and cut his ponytail two weeks before trial, said he traveled with Jackson as paid tour doctor during the African leg of the singer's 1997 world tour.
When Wells pressed Ratner about giving drugs to Jackson, prosecutor Christine Chung asked to discuss the matter outside the presence of the jury.
At Manhattan Federal Judge William Pauley's bench, Wells insisted that Ratner had, in fact, given Jackson unnamed drugs.
"I want to explore the implication, and I think what he is doing is illegal," Wells added.
But prosecutor Chung argued that the mention of Jackson was distracting jurors from the case at hand. Pauley warned Wells to avoid further references to the Gloved One.
During cross-examination, Ratner then repeatedly dodged Wells' questions about whether he administered drugs to anyone on the tour.
"In the course of performing your job as tour doctor, did you have occasion to administer narcotics to persons on the tour?" Wells asked.
Ratner: "No."
Wells: "Drugs?"
Ratner: "What is your definition of drugs?"
Wells fired back, "You're the anesthesiologist, you define it."
Pauley instructed the jury to ignore Wells' comment.

Does anyone know if Ratner will be forced to testify?

no, i don't know what you are talking about. if his ex wife did die under murray, he wouldnt recommend this doctor to michael then.
one of his ex wifes died while having surgery a story went round that murray was her dr.which was shown to be false. brown had loads of exs. obviously im not talking about the one from this actual article. as shes not his ex and is still alive . this story about about being browns dr is probably just a chinese whisper continuation of the original story i stated above

thanks for this on #86 of the list of misinformed info.
i suggest u actually read what ppl are saying b4 making such childish comments or stick to the conspiracy section of the board

Murray's team

it's possible to show a pattern but what - if anything - he will say is anyone's guess

doctor / patient confidentiality survives death however as there's criminal lawsuit here and if the judge sees it necessary he can order the doctors to testify.

criminal lawsuit here
u mean this trial? sorry the word lawsuit confuses me cause ive read in the past inregards to civil lawsuits the rule on confidentiality can be different

yes I meant this trial.

As I said doctor - patient confidentiality continues after death but if the judge thinks Michael's medical history is relevant and important then he can allow the other doctors to testify about Michael's medical history and their treatments. We'll wait and see.

thanks. so i guess thats gonna be another legal argument hearing for the future ontop of no doubt many others
