Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

I just post this link here so people don't have to go for looking for it

Currently Michael is leading
Worldwide iTunes Album Chart 2014/05/13
1 Michael Jackson - XSCAPE
and
Global iTunes Artist Ranking

1 Michael Jackson

Not too bad :cheeky:

I must say that I'm absolutely delighted that it is Deluxe album that is selling like hot cakes and not the other one. Now no one can say that Michael's songs were so bad that they have to be remix in order to make them sound good, but Deluxe if selling because it includes demos the MJ left them.

UK:

Michael Jackson is well on his way to claiming the Official Albums Chart Number 1 this weekend with his second posthumous release Xscape.

Back in March it was announced Epic Records had teamed up with the late Michael Jackson’s estate to compile an album of previously unheard tracks.

Xscape features ‘contemporised’ versions of the original track recordings and high-profile producers include Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, JRoc, Stargate and John McClain.

Michael Jackson has an impressive chart history scoring 30 Official Albums Chart Top 40s and nine Number 1s, to date. And, selling over 25,000 copies so far this week, Xscape looks on track to be the late King Of Pop’s 10th UK Number 1 album.

We should make 2 separate threads. One for the singles. One for the album.

I tried to see the Billboard page on my iPod but I can't. I hope the performance with the hologram gives the album a good boost.

The LNFSG duet is no. 7 on iTunes Mexico.

I'm hoping BK's sales are way front loaded after ages on pre-order - like the UK - and that MJ will catch up with better physical sales.

If not, a #1 in the UK will do me.

It's great to see the album doing well on te charts.. This is awesome, do we know when we will find out 1at day sales? I'm just really wonder.. I am lookin forward to 1st day, 1st week sales :)

Beyond sad. I am speechless... Missing out the #1 by 5000 or less? I have no words.

And by some unknown band who hates Michael Jackson! BUT it is NOT over yet, it is only mid-week. US fans can do it! It is only 5000 copies. Maybe 10000. That is nothing.

It`s not midweek. It`s one day-sales

It's a pity that the Billboard Awards will be too late to impact on this weeks chart. That could have helped MJ pass those, shit for brains, Black Keys.

BA are Saturday evening? It can still impact the charts if they are counted until Sunday 23:59. That is 1 whole day. Or am I wrong?

Well I'll admit when I went to stores to find the mj cd.. I saw te black keys CDs right next it and I hid them lol!! Xscape will have continuous success though! There's still more publicity that's needed :)

Hahaha, I always do that too.

How? It is Wednesday today. The charts count sales until Sunday, right?

Well the album came out yesterday. And the article says

YOUR ONE-DAYS: After one full day of sales, it's a nail-biter for #1 on next week's chart.

Edit: The Billboard Awards are Sunday.

Too late to help week 1 then.

They will have one hour or more, depending what time MJ's segment airs.

In America (For some unexplained reason) Chart week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. But most records are released on Tueday, missing that first day sale in their premiere week. Coldplay will bypass that rule and release their album this coming Monday.

you can't seriously expect the label to keep throwing money at this project if they won't have a sizable return. The millions they already spent to produce the record and all the huge marketing, all that resulted in 150K sale in US and maybe 40K in UK (the two biggest markets). I believe they will pull back, unless LNFSG picks up some steam and become a hit, that could sustain album sale.

Similar to what happened with "Michael". It is sad because LA Reid , who just started at Epic, took a huge gamble with this project. we can't expect these huge scale projects if fans don't fully support them. I am sure black Keys label didn't spend half as much money on their album as Epic did on MJ's.

I hope US fans are able to turn this around during the next 5 days.

EDIT:

OK...I just re-read my post and it came off a bit more negative than I intended. Xscape is not a failure far from it, being #1 in over 50 countries and #2 in US, Germany (if those stand)...is a great achievement considering the negative press and critics who don't agree with posthumous CDs. Xscape has already exceeded "Michael", if not by numbers, by the enormous positive press coverage.

This is more an indictment of the current music market and fans who claim to want large scale projects, but are not willing to put their money where their mouth is. And no need to mention boycotters, because Xscape through its global success has proven they may be a vocal group but hold little to no power.
