Guys in one of the "Breaking News" Threads Smooth has an update, unfortunately it details how over 50% is filled in with impersonatorshopefully it's not true
Hopefully it is true, because if it is proven that the guy singing lead in BN IS Michael, then I will feel VERY SAD for 3 reasons: 1) That I wasn't able to recognise my idol 2) (and worst) that I wouldn't have liked his performance on the song and of course 3) that me along with the majority of the forum would have contributed to the failure of this album.
I want to hear what Smooth's source told him officially from Sony (not that I don't believe Smooth, just won't rest until that happens)

I think it is time Michael's fans take a greater stance in this process and I am certain they wont just roll the carpet out for us without our insistence.

Does anybody really believe that Sony are going to take off the Cascio tracks now??? I fear that nothing we do is going to change their minds.
Sony are going to be thinking about damage limitation now. They have two choices:
1. To release a statement saying that the Cascio tracks have been ommitted (which is as good as admitting they are fake)
or
2. Maintain their current position
Think about it, it'd probably be more damaging to the albums sales and to Sony's reputation if they admit these songs are fake then if they just go ahead....

Or they can pretend they were "joking", like they knew it was fake and never meant to include that in the album and only did that to create media hype. And I think this could be a clever manouvre to save their asses. Or of course that they were deceived by the Cascios

That's never going to happen in a million years.
I take it some of you will be boycotting sales of all Michael's albums that contain vocals that are not 100% his? i.e - 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller', 'Bad', 'Dangerous' etc? After all, other people sang vocals/backing vocals on these albums. If you're obsessed that everything has to be 100% MJ, then you better burn all your albums.

How can we be destroying the legacy when this garbage isn't even part of it; it's not Michael!
I think if this goes on, we should buy another Michael Jackson Album (Bad, Thriller, Dangerous, Invincible...) instead of "Michael" on the release day. This would be a boycott without boycotting Michael.

The album will be pulled or will flop big time. Sony will only release GH's every 5 years or so, with diminishing interest as time goes on.

If Michael wanted us to hear this music he would of released it. I think it's sad that the members of this forum are fighting amoungst themselves. I used to really enjoy visiting this site but it's so negative now. It's all for L.O.V.E. that's what MJ said and everyone seems to be forgetting that. Surely we knew from the start that Sony would use every trick in the book to squeeze every last penny out of MJ's legacy, I can't see why everyone is so surprised. I agree that this is not MJ on breaking news. I just think that we should concentrate on the projects that celebrate his finest work and not the projects that he wanted to keep for himself. It's hard enough not having Michael around and now made even worse that we can't all stand together and agree to disagree. These are sad days and not how it was meant to be.

No, this was not caused by the fans. It was caused by the MJ Estate and we are entitled to be angry when they try to release a song under MJ's name when it contains virtually no MJ in it. The verses are not MJ. The backing is not MJ. Disgraceful.
IF they didn't have enough material to work with they should have passed on this and moved onto a different song. I will not buy any album that contains this kind of treatment. I have cancelled my pre-orders and will only listen to the 100% true MJ songs the new album contains online. I will not buy the album to hear them

How can you be willing to support a song (and possibly album) that is so obviously a fraud; you should be questioning yourself here, not visa versa.

Hey, if you think its him, no problem. Everyone has their thoughts, but to me, there isn't a single line in that song sung by Michael Jackson. The entire track is sung by someone else and is padded with clips of MJ singing "oww!" and breathing. That song sounds like it's 99% Jason Malachi.
Nobody here is trying to tarnish his legacy, but I'm not buying any album with fake vocals on them. If I want to listen to a cover or sound-alikes, there's a trillion videos on Youtube for that.

Do you know what the future otherwise would be (if fans accepted fake songs as real)?
The album would get mediocre acceptance by the public plus many fans would get dissappointed. Critics would comment on lousy or without passion interpretation of "MJ". Michael's legacy as a musician would be forever harmed.
Sony would keep "discovering" new songs of MJ in the near future (just as they did with the Cascios). More such albums would come out ending up being purchased only by fans like you who blindly accept anything they are given just to help Michael's "legacy"
Do you like this future?
If Sony can't offer us decent unfinished songs, then let her stop. Michael has given us more than enough work throughout his lifetime

Fans (most) would not accept fake songs.Sony has well & truly been rumbled If indeed it is proven that bn is fake.I think you are worrying yourself over nothing concerning his legacy.

If the album is released with the questionable songs, hopefully each will be available for individual download.Then we simply ignore those questionable tracks, download the ones which the family approve.Another way to let Sony what we think if indeed the tracks are fake.

for those who do not see the motives and mechanisms: michael jackson's musical heritage is probably the most valuable content of any single singer and sony music paid a lot of money for it. but there is one BIG PROBLEM: what they have is tons of fragments, vocal takes, and demos, hundreads of those. probably much more than ready to release tracks that were polished back then by michael himself. so what goes on in sony's mind is this: if we manage to somehow manage to put those musical fragments together, we can make far more money. it's basically like a drug dealer that is stretching the dope by mixing in a substitute. and this method is being done especially on the upcoming record because they want to profit from the power it carries by being "michael's last recordings". unfortunately michael's last recordings are very sketchy. a track done by michael shortly before he died has more selling potential than a track from 1992. i'm not saying that there aren't any great unrelaesed songs in the vaults. i'm sure that there is amazing stuff like "men in black" and others from the 90s and invincible recordings. but those are few compared to the mass of unfinished material and those will hopefully be out one day. but most likely on releases like invincible10 or other packages. if we are lucky they make up their mind to release an album of outtakes, combining works of his entire career.
But: we need to remember that the majority of sony employees is going through the same process of finding out just as we do. of course the decision to add an vocalist on the cascio rcordings has NOT been openly communicated. there is big drama going on behind sony's doors right now, all over the world.
i have not been a sony hater and i am aware of the fact that this had been the decison of very few executives. but that is sony's self-inflicted problem now.
i take this as the biggest scandal in the history of pop music ever and it needs to be dicussed. even if it does harm the sells of "michael". i hate to say it but i just hope that the big media outlets will pick this topic up and start to ask questions and thereby pressure sony so that they openly talk about their procedures.
if they want to mix and alter the stuff, ok, it's kinda fair for they bought the rights to it can use it for whatever purpose. i won't buy it but some of you might still enjoy it and be really happy with a catchy pop song. it's fair and up to the consumer. but what is not fair is LYING ABOUT IT.
